A specific blood test first.

There are different parameter (Biomarker) to check your heart by blood count. (hsCRP, CK-MB, BNP/NT, Troponin and some others).

Hope you keep on ticking, though.

Doctors are useless in Australia

This year I had ct scans of body X 2

ultrasounds abdomen,ribs X 2

cancer marker blood tests X 4  tests

,they refuse to believe there is anything wrong

Now I have left chest pains ,they are liars saying it's pericarditis

These doctors here in Australia are not interested in me

They are condescending towards me

Yeah, if you act like you know better than them, that will ruffle their egos.

Best to keep quiet and go research online or get opinions from multiple doctors.

The practice of medicine is more an art than a science.

It has always been this way.

In addition to a CBC, then these are specific to Cardiac blood tests.

Cardiac enzymes and biomarkers are blood tests used to assess damage or stress to the heart. The most important markers today are the troponins, which rise when heart muscle cells are injured. Older enzymes like CK-MB and myoglobin may still be used, though they’re less specific. Additional markers can help evaluate inflammation, heart failure, or clotting problems that may affect the cardiovascular system.

Main cardiac biomarkers include:

1. Troponin I (cTnI)

2. Troponin T (cTnT)

3. CK-MB (Creatine Kinase–MB isoenzyme)

4. Total CK (Creatine Kinase)

5. Myoglobin

6. BNP or NT-proBNP (heart failure markers)

7. hs-CRP (inflammation / cardiovascular risk)

8. D-dimer (detects clot-related issues

Absolutely brilliant stuff !!!!

And this folks is WHY I keep coming back to this forum

GeorgeG - drop anchor and have some faith !

I had cardioversion in Bangkok Hospital in Korat, where they saved my life and later a catheter ablation at BKK Heart Centre, both in 2013, and I received exemplary care and kindness.

Some of the comments on your thread have been dismissive of Thai Doctors and I think that's wrong . . . . Doctors in Britain told me that Dr Koonlawee Nademanee, who did my catheter ablation in BKK, was regarded as top in the World, having practices In San Francisco and holding many of the Patents for the equipment used.

Today I have been to BKKH in Chanthaburi to get a 'Complete Blood Count' (to check after a changed prescription) and an Echocardiogram, for which the NHS waiting list was 8 months long ! The Hospital, Staff and Equipment were all first class. Cost THB 7,800.

Any BKKH should be OK. Bungrumrad in BKK is an alternative.

Good luck . . . .

In another thread you told us that, when in Thailand, you visit Dr Olivier in Pattaya once every week for a prostate examination.

IMO, you are an hypochondriac who is wasting valuable health care resources.

I will add that, if true about your weekly prostate examinations (I don't believe you) a doctor who is willing to take your cash for such unnecessary procedures is a charlatan. From all the positive reports I hear about Dr Olivier, I believe you are lying.

Weekly? I don't think so.

And, every dollar spent on your free and unnecessary scans/blood tests/ultrasounds is a dollar less that can be spent on really ill people. Please think about that.

Every time you have an unnecessary scan, etc, someone else (who may really need it)  gets bumped further down the queue.

If you can live with that, so be it. But, IMO, you are a not much better than a bludger.

There's no element of prejudice at all, in my reply GeorgeG. You post nonsense and are not interested in helpful contributions . . . . just an attention seeker. GL

I was surprised to hear from the other poster that you are of Pakistani background

I guess your ashamed of your culture ?

You even went out of your way to report him for outing your background

No need to be ashamed and hide it.....we all love Pakistani people,

I just had a CT calcium score test, which is a lot cheaper.  About 2500b including consultation with a cardiologist afterwards. I now wish I got a CT Angiogram instead. It tells a lot more and is considered the gold standard.  It's a lot more expensive though.  Maybe next year.  Don't want to take another radiation hit for awhile.
