A dramatic police pursuit in Chonburi ended in a fatal crash on December 4, 2025, leaving two drug-trafficking suspects dead and a police officer seriously injured. The incident occurred at the entrance of Soi 6/1, Promsinga, Moo 9, Bueng subdistrict, Si Racha district, when a silver pickup truck fleeing officers slammed into the rolling steel gate of Siam Mikuron Co., Ltd. Police and rescue teams arrived to find the vehicle heavily damaged.

The driver, 31-year-old Voratas, was discovered dead behind the wheel, while another male suspect was rushed to hospital with critical injuries and later died. At the rear of the pickup, officers found Pol Sgt Maj Prasobsuk Asasuk of Nong Kham Police Station severely injured after having clung to the vehicle during the chase. Emergency responders provided first aid before transporting him to hospital for further treatment.

Police recovered 202 methamphetamine pills hidden under the front passenger seat and seized them as evidence. Investigators reported that Voratas was a known drug dealer operating in the area, allegedly supplying workers. Prior to the crash, officers conducted a sting operation to purchase methamphetamine, during which Voratas realised the setup and attempted to escape.

The fleeing suspects sped off in the pickup as officers opened fire to halt the vehicle, with Pol Sgt Maj Prasobsuk jumping onto the back during the attempt to apprehend them. The chase starting in Mueang Chonburi district and moving along Nong Khla Road into Si Racha. The pursuit ended when the pickup, travelling at high speed, failed to brake and collided forcefully with the company gate.

Police noted that initial assessments indicate no sign of braking before impact. Officers will review CCTV footage from the surrounding area to confirm the sequence of events and examine all procedures involved. A further detailed investigation will be conducted to determine whether protocol was followed during the chase and shooting.

SiamNews reported that authorities are to interview witnesses, including rescue personnel, nearby residents and officers involved in the sting operation. The findings will help clarify the circumstances leading to the fatal crash and support the preparation of official reports. Police emphasised that all evidence, including the seized narcotics, will be documented for use in ongoing inquiries.

Hardly worth dying for,  But heck, the BIB should go Hegseth and start dropping AGM-114 Hellfire missiles on "drug suspects."
