A murder investigation is underway in Chanthaburi after the body of an unidentified man was discovered bound hand and foot and stuffed inside a plastic bin left beside a roadside bamboo thicket on 4 December 2025 at around 17.30. Police, forensic teams, a duty doctor from Na Yai Am Hospital and volunteers from Sawang Katanyu Rescue Unit responded to the scene in Ban Huang Hin, Moo 6, Na Yai Am subdistrict. Officers from Na Yai Am Police Station launched an immediate search for the killers following the grim discovery.

The black plastic bin, about one metre high and without a lid, was initially found roughly five metres from a concrete road on its side in the overgrowth. Inside, rescuers found a tightly packed bundle of fabric, with part of a human back protruding, emitting a strong smell of decomposition.

Rescue personnel carefully removed the body for examination while evidence officers began collecting forensic material from the area. The victim, a naked man, had been wrapped in three layers: a yellow blanket, a black floral sarong and a mesh fabric. His wrists were tied with a shoelace, while his ankles were secured with paracord. The body was curled tightly inside the bin and showed early decomposition, with investigators estimating he had been dead for around five to six days.

A preliminary examination could not determine whether the man had been injured with a sharp object, a blunt weapon or by another method. Forensic officers documented the scene and gathered evidence, including jewellery found on the victim, for further analysis. The body was sent to the forensic medicine unit at Phra Pokklao Hospital for a full post-mortem to confirm the cause of death and identify the victim.

Neighbouring residents provided initial leads to investigators. Santi, a 55-year-old fruit farmer, told officers he had seen the bin two days earlier but noticed no smell and assumed someone had dumped rubbish, which was common in the area. He said he did not recognise the victim and believed the man was not from the local community.

Residents and nearby shop owners also reported hearing dogs barking unusually at around 02:00 on 28 November 2025, a detail investigators consider a significant clue. Based on the condition of the bin and the surrounding area, police believe the man was murdered elsewhere before his body was placed in the container and dumped to conceal the crime. Officers are now reviewing CCTV footage from nearby properties and along surrounding roads to track the perpetrators.

Matichon reported that investigators say further forensic results, witness interviews and CCTV evidence will guide the next stages of the inquiry. Police expect to piece together the victim’s identity and movements before his death as part of efforts to identify suspects. The investigation will remain active until those responsible are apprehended and brought to justice.

This is sickening!

Yes true, and seems to be more and more nasty crimes everyday now, very scary and very sad

I don't feel scared or unsafe.

Mind your own business, keep doing everything legally, stay under the radar, you will be just fine.

If you antagonize, break the law, continue to be a jerk you'll get your just deserts.
