A 54-year-old woman was found dead in a rice field in Lom Sak district, Phetchabun, after being allegedly assaulted with a hoe during a confrontation linked to a long-running personal dispute. Police were alerted on 5 December 2025 to the discovery of the body about 800 metres from a nearby village in Moo 1, Bung Khla subdistrict. Officers confirmed the victim was struck fatally during a violent clash believed to stem from a past love-triangle conflict.

Police identified the deceased as Mrs Pippiriya, aged 54, from Moo 14 in Bung Khla subdistrict. She was found lying on her back with a cloth over her head, wearing grey-black gloves, black trousers and brown boots. Initial checks revealed injuries to her chest and hands and officers located a hoe, a motorcycle and the victim’s mobile phone at the scene, all of which were collected as evidence pending forensic examination and confirmation of the precise cause of death.

Witness accounts indicated that shortly before 10:00 the victim had argued with a 51-year-old woman named Ms Kiam, also from Moo 14, who police have identified as the suspect. The dispute reportedly stemmed from a relationship matter after Mr Thanaphon, the suspect’s former partner, ended their relationship earlier in the year and began seeing the victim. Police said the confrontation escalated rapidly into violence.

According to the investigation, Ms Kiam allegedly struck the victim on the face and upper body with the hoe, causing her death before fleeing on a Yamaha Fino motorcycle with Phetchabun registration. Officers are now pursuing the suspect as part of an active manhunt. Police are also awaiting forensic teams and medical examiners to complete the autopsy.

Naewna reported that the victim’s brother, Mr Thongchai, told police that the two women had argued before but had never become physically violent. He urged the suspect to surrender and take responsibility for the incident. Authorities said they will continue gathering evidence and statements as they move toward filing charges once the suspect is detained.
