Fitness coach Po has publicly addressed allegations involving a child discipline incident, admitting he tapped a boy lightly and expressing regret for his actions. Known for his popular online presence, Po confirmed the incident happened on November 30; he emphasised that his intention was not to harm but to gently instruct the child. He stated he is ready to take responsibility and to make amends.

The incident occurred by a swimming pool where Po noticed two boys near his diving equipment. After attempting to verbally correct the younger boy, who was stepping on his diving fins, Po admitted to lightly tapping him with a fingertip for not apologising. Po claimed that there was no harm intended, and the children did not appear distressed, with the older boy eventually apologising.

Following the event, Po tried to locate the children’s parents to discuss what happened. When a male guardian arrived, a discussion unfolded, with the guardian expressing the intention to press charges against Po. Although acknowledging his actions, Po reported frustration about his damaged equipment and reiterated his willingness to mediate with the children’s parents at Thong Lo police station.

Despite preparing to apologise and offer compensation, Po noted no contact from the parents for mediation. With the incident gaining traction on social media, Po temporarily deactivated his accounts to prepare a detailed response. As of 6 December, he visited the police station again, offering to cover medical expenses and post a public apology on Facebook.

Coach Po reflected on the incident, acknowledging it was inappropriate and emphasising the need for a positive conflict resolution. He advocated for dialogue over violence, particularly highlighting his responsibility given his public profile, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways:

  • Coach Po admitted to lightly disciplining a child by a pool, sparking backlash.
  • He attempted to apologise and mediate but faced challenges with the children's parents.
  • Po plans a peaceful resolution and public apology via social media.

So this guy lightly taps a child with his fingertip, but it was so light of a touch that the child required medical intervention?

Why does it seem like the reports are not taking this seriously?

The somewhat confusing article does not state the brat required any medical intervention, just that it was offered along with apology.... Maybe the kid was on a football (soccer) team and was practicing his dives?

or perhaps Po studied the Bruce Lee "One inch punch"?

We should really hope that Thailand doesn't reach the asinine discipline practices of Western countries. Charging their own parents with abuse over trivial matters?!?
