Apart from Minnesota’s biting cold this week, one complication in Trump’s plan to deport Somalis from Minnesota through immigration enforcement is that the vast majority of Americans and Minnesotans of Somali descent are U.S. citizens, many of whom were born here.

Exact numbers on citizenship of Somali-Americans are unknown. The American Community Survey, which extrapolates its monthly sampling of selected households to the larger population through a weighting process, indicates that around 22,000 Somalis in America — 8.4% — are not citizens. In Minnesota, around 5,000 people of Somali descent are not citizens, according to ACS. That figure includes people here through other legal means, such as permanent residents, green card holders and the couple hundred covered by Temporary Protected Status, a protection Trump said he would end earlier than planned.

I know some of them used fake marriages such as to their own biological brother to fraudulently obtain citizenship. Surely in cases like this its a no brainer to return both parties to sender? See. Easy when you try🤣

I've learned from earlier experience that there are lots of things you claim to know.   Someday, one of them may even turn out to be true.

Still, I do I live in constant fear that the Chinese government will be enraged by several topics I have launched that criticize their government. The possibility of being kidnapped and taken back to China where I will be tortured or even assassinated by them haunts me. But the very worst outcome I can imagine is that I will someday see that big red screen and be banished from aseannow. . If the naturalized citizenship status was obtained by fraudulent or dishonest means, then the citizenship can be revoked and the person denaturalized.

 

Here are the reasons for Denaturalization

1.  Person Procures Naturalization Illegally

Procuring naturalization illegally simply means that the person was not eligible for naturalization in the first place.  This includes the requirements of residence, physical presence, lawful admission for permanent residence, good moral character, and attachment to the U.S. Constitution. Discovery that a person failed to comply with any of the requirements for naturalization at the time the person became a U.S. citizen renders his or her naturalization illegally procured. This applies even if the person is innocent of any willful deception or misrepresentation.

 

2.  Concealment of Material Fact or Willful Misrepresentation

i. Concealment of Material Fact or Willful Misrepresentation - if there is deliberate deceit on the part of the person in misrepresenting or failing to disclose a material fact or facts on his or her naturalization application and subsequent examination.

This ground of revocation includes omissions as well as affirmative misrepresentations. The misrepresentations can be oral testimony provided during the naturalization interview or can include information contained on the application submitted by the applicant. 

ii. Membership or Affiliation with Certain Organizations -  if the person becomes a member of, or affiliated with, the Communist party, other totalitarian party, or terrorist organization within five years of his or her naturalization. In general, a person who is involved with such organizations cannot establish the naturalization requirements of having an attachment to the Constitution and of being well-disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States.

 

3. Other than Honorable Discharge before Five Years of Honorable Service after Naturalization

 

The takeaway is that the anyone who thinks they are safe because they became US citizens, but who have been active members or supporters of terrorist  groups may be denaturalized.

In the early 1800s there was a massive immigration of Dutch people from the Netherlands into the United States. These people become very successful, productive, hard working and law abiding citizens.
