Non-O immigrant Visa Extension (Spousal)

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if they've recently changed the location for spousal visa extension from Building B Govt Complex to IT Laksi Square?  The online appointment scheduler no longer shows available time slots at Govt Complex but now show it on the 3rd floor at Laksi.

You apply for extension at CW.

Appointments are open 30 days days  in advance..

Often fully booked.

They open next day every day.

Try book very early when new day added.

I've been looking at the online scheduler every morning for the past 3 weeks.  There have been zero time slots available at the CW location (all dates are greyed out). But for some reason, time slots are available at Laksi which seems odd as this has not been the location for spousal extensions.

I'm asking if there has been a recent change in location to maybe ease the lines at CW.

No.  You're seeing the "Visiting Thai Family" extension from the Laksi appointment.  That's a 60-day extension that is available if you have a Thai spouse or half-Thai child.  People who entered on visa exempt and want to apply for this extension would do so at Laksi because that is the office that handles visa exempt extensions.  This is not an appointment for marriage extensions.  Those are only done at CW.

You're not getting up early enough to check the system.

Appointments are booked solid quickly, and at midnight they open up another day a month out.

Meaning at 12:00am this morning the appointment slots for Jan 9th opened up and can be booked

In Bangkok, you need to plan about a month ahead of when you want to go for your extension so you can book an appt before they fill up.

Also keep checking the system because if someone cancels their appt it will come back up in the system to be booked.

It takes some planning but if you try you can get an appt when you want.

And that's preferable to queuing up with the zombie horde at 6am out there 😉 😛

I thought extension were available 45 day before at CW?

They are.  But not via the appointment system.

Thank you. That makes more sense.  I will head to CW without an appointment.

Yes I'm aware. My appointment date is 30 days out and I've been checking everyday for the past 3 weeks.  All dates have been grayed out for the spousal visa appointments, but slots for tourist, retirement, etc are available.  Very strange.

Currently 1 available on 26/12, and 3 still left for 9/1.

Because there are not as many slots per day for marriage/raising thai children as there are for retirement/tourist, etc
AND
because the marriage appt spots book up usually within hours of when they open up for booking.

Just checked now and the Dec 26th doesn't show available anymore and now only 2 spots for Jan 9th (11am & 2pm) 😮
