More than 9,000 children in Gaza were hospitalised for acute malnutrition in October, according to new data from the United Nations.

The figures highlight a worsening humanitarian crisis, even two months after a ceasefire was declared. Aid groups say food and medical access remain severely limited.

 

 

“In Gaza’s hospitals I have met several newborns who weighed less than one kilogramme, their tiny chests heaving with the effort of staying alive,” said Tess Ingram, spokesperson for UNICEF.

 

Roughly 8,300 pregnant and breastfeeding women were also hospitalised for acute malnutrition in October.

UNICEF says this trend is deeply troubling and will likely lead to a surge in low birthweight babies across the Gaza Strip in the coming months.

Siwar Ashour, whose story the BBC has followed for several months, was repatriated to Gaza on 3 December after completing her medical treatment in Amman.

Aside from nobody blamed Israel for the genetic disorder of that girl, as mentioned before, nobody said the Neocate cans were GIVEN to them in Gaza.

The article is structured to present a child as starving because of the Israelis. The reality is that the child suffers from a genetic condition associated with inbreeding. 

Israel is not to blame for the destruction of Gaza's infrastructure. The Gazans started a war and used the buildings for their  military campaign. The buildings became legitimate targets to be neutralized.

 

You blame Israel for the absence of "clean water" and hygiene. It was the Gazans who directed that the water pipes to be used as missiles. Prior to the war, Gaza lacked effective sewage disposal and it was because the pipes and  materials that were given  for the purpose were instead  directed for military use. The cement needed to for buildings was used to build underground bunkers.
