A member of Thailand's women's Arena of Valor (RoV) team has been removed from the 33rd SEA Games following internal issues. The removal of player Napat Warasin, known as Tokyogurl, was announced by the Thailand Esports Federation (TESF) after a violation involving unauthorised software was discovered. This incident occurred just before a crucial lower bracket final against Laos, following a 0–3 loss to Vietnam.

The Thai team's performance was under scrutiny after falling to Vietnam, which led them to a decisive match against Laos. Speculation began after Tokyogurl was seen making a controversial gesture on camera during their match. Online discussions suggested that unauthorised software had been installed on a competition device, potentially breaching SEA Games rules.

The TESF's official statement confirmed Tokyogurl's removal due to violating section 9.4.3 of the esports handbook, which prohibits unauthorised software usage. Other team members, like Jenniex, expressed their focus on the upcoming match while acknowledging the turmoil and promising future clarification. Jomkhon Phumsinin, also known as Givemeakiss, posted a cryptic but heartfelt message on social media, indicating internal distress.

Looking ahead, Thailand faces a crucial match against Laos and could potentially meet Vietnam again in the gold medal round. The team's focus now shifts to securing a win amidst these challenges. The outcome will not only affect their standing in this competition but also influence perceptions and strategies for upcoming tournaments, reported The Thaiger.
