The Thai Ambassador in Seoul, Tanee Sangrat, and Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd. (AEROTHAI) have partnered to reassure South Korean tourists about travel safety in Thailand. Effective December 18, 2025, this collaboration seeks to address concerns raised by unrest at the Thailand-Cambodia border, ensuring tourists that these issues are remote from major tourist spots. Focused on air travel, the partnership highlights Thailand's commitment to safe and secure travel, enhancing confidence among visitors.

The initiative responds to recent media reports, especially in South Korea, which may have misrepresented the unrest’s impact on tourist safety. Ambassador Tanee reiterated Thailand's dedication to maintaining a safe environment, with AEROTHAI playing a crucial role in air traffic management. This assurance is particularly important as flight frequency is set to increase during the upcoming New Year festival, according to AEROTHAI's Pichet Kunadhamraks, who noted a rise in daily flights between Thailand and South Korea from 54 to 60.

AEROTHAI has implemented extensive air traffic control measures, supported by experienced staff and advanced technology, to uphold high safety standards. The Thai Embassy and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) are also gearing up for a post-New Year marketing strategy to attract more South Korean tourists. This involves collaborating with South Korean influencers to promote Thailand as a "Green Destination" focusing on sustainable tourism and cultural experiences, mimicking South Korean travelers' interests.

This collaborative effort by Thai government agencies aims to reinforce Thailand's image as a safe and inviting travel locale. As the high tourism season unfolds, these initiatives are crucial for maintaining and driving growth in the sector, reinforcing Thailand's standing as a top travel destination. Pichet assured that the border situation has no bearing on tourism or flight safety, emphasizing AEROTHAI's dedication to clear communication. Ensuring trust among tourists and airlines remains a priority, supporting sustainable growth in Thailand's tourism industry, reported The Nation.
