Multiple Entry Non-O visa based on having a Thai child

Featured Replies

Divorced people with child in Thailand, how have you managed your visas after divorce? Apparently the 1-year extension is out of the table with current custody agreement so I've been looking for a multiple-entry Non-O visa instead. It's bit hard to find information about it and the e-visa portal is only supporting the 3-month single entry visas. Is there some embassies in the near by countries that let you apply for multiple entry visas or should I be looking for something else? Thanks, -KK

Multi entry Non O no longer available anywhere.

How old are you.

You could consider another Visa type

Not old enough for retirement visa.

And why would that be?

If you had a Thai child while you were married to their Thai mother you were automatically granted parental rights,

and
unless you specifically relinquished those rights in the divorce decree filed at the Amphur you still have them (legal parental rights).

In the event of divorcing your Thai wife you can use your thai child as a reason for your yearly extension. Unless I'm greatly mistaken you don't need sole custody..

Something that people who have thai children out of wedlock do (when they do not have legal parental rights) is

Go to a nearby consulate, apply for the 90 day single entry Non-O visa based on "staying with Thai family" <- which is the category you select for thai child or marriage to a thai.

Come in get the 90 days, then when that runs down get the 60 day visit thai family extension at the immigration office.

That gives you 5 months total, then go get another 90 day Non-O.

Before the consulates all went to eVisa online I know people who got those visas from Savannakhet every 5 months like clockwork, one after another.

Granted it's not as neat and tidy as a year extension, but it'd work...

They must live with and be supported by the alien though, even if they have parental rights, for a 1-year extension.

I have 2 kids with my exwife. They live in my country for 18 years now.Even the kids have dual citizenship it doesn't help me at all because their adults now.A friend of me who had plan to stay in Thailand rest of his life is now on his way back with his 5 old year daughter. He is not divorced but they agree that his daughter will have much more better education here.So his wife will visit them during school holidays because shes a teacher.

My reply wasn't directly a answer to ur questions but hope that's ok.

I want to say that he cancelled his year visa in Thailand based on marriage.

He is not divorced? He most likely will not obtain extension based on parent of Thai child.

OP has moved to Norway with his daughter.
Wife will visit them during Thai school holidays.

So why is the OP inquiring about the (non-existent) ME visa to visit Thailand.
He can just obtain a TV if he intends to visit.
