Authorities in Sakon Nakhon raided an unlicensed medical clinic on 27 December 2025, finding a practitioner administering injections to two patients and five more waiting for treatment. Officials seized medications, medical equipment and biohazard waste, leading to five legal charges against the individual operating the facility.

The operation followed a complaint from local residents about an unauthorised healthcare service in Mueang District, Sakon Nakhon. Dr Pornphat Phunakulom, the provincial public health officer, assigned staff from the Consumer Protection and Pharmaceutical Public Health Group and legal officers from the provincial health office to coordinate with local police to inspect the site on 26 December.

During the inspection, authorities found large quantities of oral and injectable medicines, examination beds, syringes, gloves and medical waste mixed with regular trash. The suspect, identified only as Mrs A, faces charges including operating a medical facility without a license, practising medicine without registration, selling prescription drugs without authorisation, selling pre-packaged multi-drug sets and distributing unregistered medicines.

Dr Pornphat warned the public to avoid unauthorised medical services, noting that such practices could be life-threatening due to non-standard treatments. Residents were advised to report illegal clinics to the Sakon Nakhon Provincial Public Health Office or the Department of Health Service Support.

Matichon reported that the seized items will be used as evidence in the prosecution of the suspect. The health office also provided guidance on identifying legitimate clinics, including displaying practitioner names, clinic signage, and valid operating licences.
