Fist-Fighting with a Farang: Have you ever?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

Just out of idle curiosity, and simply because I began to let my might wander, earlier this evening…

I would like to know, and maybe you, too, might like to know:

HOW MANY IN THIS FORUM have, some time in the past….

Engaged in Fist-Fighting with some Farang, or other…?

I know this happens, from time to time, just reading the stories on TV.

But, have you, personally, ever stooped so low?

And, when the Farang is not looking….

Have you ever been known to give the Farang a low blow?

Thanking you, in advance, for this info…to satisfy my need to know,

Best regards, and…

Happy New Year…

GammaRays Johnson

IMPORTANT NOTE: But, after a good and satisfying Fist-Fight, we must still learn to work together....

Neither have I.

I did not have you in mind when I created this glorious Topic, as you probably guessed.

And, not the Frog, neither, for that matter....

Actually, rather than more Fist-Fighting in 2026.....

I had more in mind themes such as this one....

Such a very beautiful song...

Pure Genius.

Back in the Day: Maybe around the late 1960's, and WAY-BEFORE the following decades when society and our world would become so VERY FRACTURED....

There was some hope.

Probably....False Hope....just knowing Human Nature....

Yet, back then: There was STILL some False Hope, unlike today, maybe.

FALSE HOPE is better than NO HOPE, ....maybe....

NO...

It has ALREADY HAPPENED...

I just hope the machines will remember us....

When we are gone.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Even if the machines might take over the world, in 2027...we will still have the LAST LAUGH, because...

No OpenAI Robot will ever be able to enjoy a meal like this:

I just thought I would upload one of my greatest meals, ever eaten, from my days at CMU.

No machine can understand something like this.

It's beyond its ken....

Assuming, of course that....

Such a hypothetical robot might even HAVE a ken.

When I was very young, somewhere on Cape Cod....

Some muscle-bound Farang kicked sand in my face.

The girl on my beach towel up and left me.

It happened something like you see here:

image.png

Then, when I was old enough, I purchased a ONE-WAY Ticket to Phuket.

I learned Muay Thai, and put on 200 pounds, eating Thai Food.

These days, whenever I return to Cape Cod...

Nobody kicks sand in my face.

I owe it all to my time in Phuket.

My days of Fist-Fighting are over.

I now use my feet, and I let my feet do the talking.

You know who probably kicked a lot of butt?

The Great Gama.

But notice the spelling. One M only, not 2 Ms.

If you had only one M, you might be considered great too.

Of course, as I know that you know....

You are just not the type to get into a fist-fight.

Not because you are unable.

But, because fist-fighting is anathema to your higher sensibilities.

I think I know you pretty well, by now.

Never. Such behavior is for the mentally weak.

In my best John Krasinski/Mark Walberg/Chris Evans voice:

You're wicked lucky nobody kicks sand in your face on the Cape.

What beach? Nauset? Craigville? Seagull? Race Point?

The best beach is the one with plenty of cod.

Would you not say?

I fought a few falangs in high school.

Over what?

Not here and only one close call in Bangkok at 2am. For some reason a couple guys didn't like the combo of me and a large suitcase ( just arrived on an international flight ). We went at it verbally but eventually the bigger one wanted to fight. I told lets go but not here and pointed to a soi. I started walking there and he backed down. We proceeded to hangout for next 5 hours and had a good time. Sometimes you just got a fake it and hope for the best :) The suitcase was huge and escaping with grace would have been impossible.

You should have hit both of them with the huge suitcase, and then hungout with them.

Compared to Ramon,not really.

After his big win in Thailand he did not even have to show his passport in Thailand.

He met the Thai king and many people remember him.

I watched some of his fights,a true legend!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgDY2lh1fzk

You don't mean Ramon noodles, do you?

Was he born with that moniker?

Peanut butter Ramon is the best.

Although I have no interest in muay thai, yet I can easily stomach Ramon noodles.

Only one bowl a month, however.

Some Ramon makers add to many chemicals, and the salt content is very high.

Glad I didn't because they were decent guys that just got caught up in misbehaving. They adjusted well and weren't violent at all.

Some years ago now I acted for the widow of a lovely client called Dave

Dave was a 4th Dan at Karate - he taught Karate in his spare time and it would be fair to say at 6 foot and 15 stone he was capable of looking after himself

He was in a shop and saw a 13 year old school boy put some sweets in his school bag clearly with the intent of stealing some sweets

He approached the boy to tell him to put the sweets back

The boy immediately lunged at Dave with what proved to be a sharpened screwdriver which pierced Dave's heart

Dave died in the shop long before the ambulance arrived

So if anyone is thinking of fighting a farang- or indeed anyone- my advice is turn the other cheek and walk away where possible

Life is too short and the risk in a street fight of a disaster is ever present
