Season 2 dropping now.

I watched a movie last night from BBC iPlayer, called "Black Box" and it was a French movie with some good subtitles to enable me to follow it closely, and I thought it was a true story at first, but as the movie went on it became obvious that it was not.

However it was enjoyable and very good to watch how the movie came to its conclusion.

PS. And it had a gorgeous French actress playing a fairly important role!

I found this utterly boring. Only one "real" actor in Roger Allam as 'C'. I react negatively to the cliché plot and stiff acting, as if they are all (Brits and Russians) not happy to be there. (Maybe they weren't.)

You'd think the Russians could by now be moved on to infiltrate a state that was less failing than the UK. Or maybe give us the China threat instead, which surely is the only one that now matters.

And the Russian characters seem to have been filched right out of a Russia hoax movie.

Above all, the movie seems to be populated by extremely irritating females who occupy positions far above their pay-grade. And some of the male figures are a sad comment on the manosphere.

It's the usual woke western government propaganda,

White men are stupid, women are strong and powerful, Russians are bad.

David Attenborough's 100 years on Planet Earth.

This was terrific.

Just watched "Rounders" and liked it, I was surprised I had not seen it before. 7/10

Highly rated. Haven't seen it yet but was waiting for the release. I tend go ignore the ratings from the one who called it garbage as our opinions are generally polar opposites.

Watched it last month.....
Not worth IMDB rating of 8.3/10 but still enjoyable though an hour too long.

Couple of days ago I had an urge to watch a good spy movie, and was able to do so from the BBC iPlayer film menu, so again watched the classic, "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" which I never seem to tire of although I've seen it a few times. This is the one with John Hurt as Control in the opening scenes, and Gary Oldman as George Smiley, along with a host of other good stars and in my opinion, makes it one of the best spy movies ever.

Last night I was able to find and download a movie that I had watched yonks ago, starring Viggo Mortensen, called, "The Road" and sure enough there was much of it which I didn't recall from my first viewing years ago, so it was a worthwhile exercise, and that also reminded me of another one of his movies which I liked and which I will download again, called, "A History of Violence".

One of five.

The horrific true story of John Worboys, one of the most notorious serial rapists in British history. His modus operandi was to tell women in his cab that he’d won some money and then persistently offer them a glass of champagne, which he’d laced with drugs, and which rendered his victims unconscious. He was convicted in 2009 for sexually assaulting 12 women between 2006 and 2008, with their cases selected from a large number of suspected further victims.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good as well.

Have just watched the excellent movie, "Shooter' with Mark Wahlberg, Michael Pena and the delightful Kate Mara. One of my favourites which I have watched a few times and still never tire of it.

No I haven't watched that and I think that the movie will do it for me, but thanks for mentioning it!

Well worth watching....3 series 18 episodes.

If you like your TV series a little dark and offbeat, try these two by director Nicolas Winding Refn. Available on TPB.

Copenhagen Cowboy (6 episodes)

Too Old To Die Young. (10 episodes)

Quirky and definitely not to everyone's tastes.

If you are up to something very dark and haven't seen it, I suggest The Fall (TV Series 2013–2016) - IMDb 8.1/10.

I watched "Longlegs" and thought it was pretty good. Gaping holes and whatnot, but the lead actress was good, and it was different. Likely in for a sequel. 5/10
