We are watching A taste for murder

It's a series of Low key murder mysteries set in Capri, It's quite OK and very watchable, I was initially intrigued with it because it has Cristiana Dell'Anna in it who you may remember from the 2021 series Gomorrah

Arnold Judas Rimmer of Jupiter Mining Corporation Ship Red Dwarf

It was that bad--and you watch every episode to the end --w00t--- you should be awarded a prize, I think I would have followed giddyup actions and dumped it after the first 10 minuets..... well done anyway.

Finishing it or not isn’t the point—you said that it was a thriller and it didn’t deliver.

To be fair to oxo1947, he didn't promise anything nor recommend it.

He just said it has been released.

It was classified as a thriller by the advertising.

This has good ratings, but I don’t think it’s going to be on Netflix because it’s an Amazon/ MGM Studios production, unfortunately.

I didn’t say he promised or recommended anything.
Looks like he may have copied promo text, given the oversize font—but the point stands: it was presented as a thriller, and it didn’t deliver.

But you did say "you said that it was a thriller and it didn’t deliver".

It's not his fault it's been classified as a thriller and is crap.

I'm trying to say how about we get back to reviews rather than badgering each other.

I watched the first two season of "Suits", Started out great but it seems like the wheels are falling off. Does it get better in season 3?

If Suits 2011-19 then yea, as I watched all 9 seasons. Has it's 'soap' moments, but overall I enjoyed it.

My feedback on the movies I have watched just recently: –

I saw that an old spaghetti western was available on BBC iPlayer, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", so decided to watch it and managed to get just over halfway through it before I tired of it, mainly because it has nothing on the "recent" westerns, especially one which was mentioned on here a while ago called, "Open Range" so I switched it off!

The next one up on BBC iPlayer was one I had never seen before or even heard of called "Harry Brown", and it starred Michael Caine and as he is a favourite actor of mine I decided to watch it and although the IMDb rating was 5.8, I found that to be far too low for the movie which I would rate at about 6.8 at least, and it was enjoyable.

Finally, another movie I'd never seen before called "Insomnia" looked interesting and starred Al Pacino and Robin Williams as well as Hilary Swank, so I thought I'd watch it and again I was glad that I did, because it was a different sort of movie and on the one hand I didn't like the ending, but on the other hand it fitted in with a "theme" in the movie. Once again it was enjoyable.

This is one of my favorite movies, but it probably wouldn't be if I was 50 years younger.

With the actors who have been around for a while sometimes I'll spot similarities between different movie roles they played. In Man Who Would be King (another personal fave) Caine plays a rascally British India veteran (named Peachy) who did not go back to Jolly Olde when his time was over; I think of Peachy as Harry Brown's great-(great- ?) grandfather (Harry is a Northern Ireland veteran).

If you want to see Caine as a completely different character (but still a bit of a rascal) check out "Cider House Rules."

That scene in Harry Brown where the idiot is smoking crack out of his pistol, stupidly leaving himself defenseless, well, that's up there with Bullwinkle using a cigarette lighter to see if there is gas in the tank.

I saw a guy check a gas tank with a lighter once back in the '70s. He thought it was diesel, it was not. Fortunately, he suffered no serious injuries, but he sure looked a mess.

Coincidentally, his nickname was "Dynamite".

Another vote for "Crime 101", I thought it was pretty good as well.

A few holes and a bit of silliness, but I loved it, and what a great cast! 7/10

Yep. Watch it again. Its quite good i really enjoyed it.

I watched a really interesting doco on BBC iPlayer called- "Implosion.....The Titanic Sub Disaster" and I thought it was a very good doco and answered a lot of questions about this disaster. I can reccomend it!

Last night I watched Storyville: The Darkest Web on BBC iPlayer. It was about Homeland Securities and other worldwide police departments tracking down paedophiles on the Dark Web.

It was harrowing and uplifting at the same time. The amazing work these people undertake in unbelievably sickening circumstances. The small crumb of visual evidence they used to track down these criminals was truly incredible.

Not an easy watch but very interesting and satisfying to know that such dedicated people exist.

Is it like a Documentary?

Yes, it is a documentary with real cases and the dedicated police personnel (American, Portuguese, Russian, Brazillian etc) who tracked down the criminals.

It was interesting to find out that the Dark Web was originally created by the US Government for secure communication purposes. It was later opened to the masses which is when it started to go very, very wrong...

Highly recommend this doc to most everyone.

It presents both the pessimistic and optimistic perspectives quite well so you can't really call it biased.

But for me the facts behind the pessimistic side are so compelling that I wasn't persuaded even a little bit to be optimistic.

Obviously how you react will be how you react.

A few details that stood out for me.

The realization that AI represents intelligence that is way superior to the human.

We obviously grow up knowing we are at the top of the intelligence food chain on earth. That is ending.
An example in the doc about ants is interesting.

Humans are not on a crusade to kill all the ants in the world. Maybe in our kitchens, but otherwise, we let the ants be ants.

But if we decide to do a project and it happens to involve killing lots of ants, we don't worry about the ants lives at all.

We're now the ants and we're the ones behind downgrading our status on earth.

I just saw the first two episodes, and it is good. It really gets better in the second episode so give it a chance.
