We watched Apex at the weekend, was pretty good - Taron Egerton seems to have found a nice little niche, not a bad Aussie accent for a welshman, not that I would know, but he doesnt sound welsh.

A new series of Fauda appears tomorrow, im not sure if its on a streaming platform or Israeli TV?

@recom273 Thanks for the heads-up about Fauda. One of the better TV series IMHO. I've enjoyed watching seasons 1-4.

Houdini, Uprising, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, For a Few Dollars More, The Wild Bunch, The Last of the Mohicans, Mr. Majestyk.

Agree, Fauda is great.

Hope it's available.

Tried to watch the movie "Project Hail Mary" but gave up on it about half way through as couldn't decide if it was a serious movie or a comedy or just nonsense.

Did you at least get to see the pov from rockey ? I thought it was the beat part...a very cool concept.

This is soooo bad. The plot is so simple it couldn't even keep my attention for a few minutes.

When I was trying to watch it, I had no idea that someone had posted his own "pov" so off it went!!

A divorced mom gets caught up in a perilous web of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer.

Gone ( tv drama series, 6 episodes ).

David Morrissey plays Michael Polly a very strange Headmaster for an all boys highbrow school in Bristol.

His wife goes missing and he cares not !!

This is a strange series, lots of staring off into the middle distance, a detective referred to only as Annie ( not DS Cassidy ), referring to the initial suspect only as Michael as if they were old friends, they were not.

The usual array of sub plots giving nothing to the storyline and a stretched out series, could have been done and dusted in 3 episodes.

The ending very much a “ we have stretched this as far as possible, time to end it now “ situation, very unsatisfying.

IMDb gave it a 7.0 rating, I would give 5.5.

In a seemingly picturesque retirement community, a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don't have - time.

Hmmm........I didn't get as far as the Alien bit as the rest of it, IMHO, was rubbish, so off it went!

The boroughs TV series all episodes,

Something is killing old folk in a desert retirement village.

Alfred Molina an Geena Davis.

Light-hearted horror and it's pretty good!

Sifting through some movies on BBC iPlayer a couple of nights ago, I came across one which looked interesting, called, "The World will Tremble", so I watched it and it was about a Nazi death camp in Poland and the annihilation of Polish Jews therein. However two escaped and were able to reach comparative safety and spread the word, about these atrocities, which eventually got back to London. A true story and it scored a 6.8 on IMDb.

I also managed to download one of my all-time favourites, "The Wild Bunch" which provided a good evenings entertainment.

Variety has confirmed with sources that Hardy will not appear in a third season of the Paramount+ crime drama. Production has already wrapped on Season 2, which finished filming in March. Sources say that Hardy was not asked to return to the series following onset issues with executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and others.

I remember reading something about Helen Mirren getting frustrated with him during filming for Season 2.

Will be interesting to see who replaces him.

I watched the movie, "Predestination" starring Ethan Hawke and although I managed to watch it through to the end, I found it to be a confusing, mish mash of a movie and I've still no idea what it was really about!! It got a 7.4 rating on iMDB, but I don't know how!!

I remember that, and thought it quite good.

Legends

UK Crime/Drugs/ Thriller / --(THEY SAY) Netflix 6 episodes-----all out today

UK Customs agents go undercover to infiltrate Britain's most dangerous drug gangs, following a thrilling criminal investigation based on extensive research and interviews with those involved in the top-secret operation.

Quite good. And the guy from Strike is in it. Funny he grew his leg back.

This looks good.

Explores WWII from Germany's invasion of Poland through the atomic age, examining pivotal battles, wartime leaders like Churchill and Roosevelt, and the human cost of total war.

I watched "The Crash", a Netflix "documentary" and while I enjoyed it, it was a bit disturbing.

Noticed that Death Valley season 2 was dropping. Hadn't seen season one so I looking for info found this one:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt32409123/

Curmudgeonly retired actor meets eager young detective - they're the perfect crime-fighting duo, if they can only get along.

Another British crime drama.

Also found an earlier series with the same name.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1835129/

A mockumentary following a police force as they deal with various perpetrators who are mostly supernatural in nature. The Undead Task Force (a branch of the LAPD, formed when the San Fernando Valley was overtaken by zombies, werewolves and vampires) must continue to get rid of the monsters and contain them in the valley. While this occurs, scientists work to find out what caused the outbreak. A brave camera crew comes along for the ride.

The earlier one, for some unknown reason seems more interesting to me than another cookie cutter British crime drama so I'm downloading the old one now. I'll wait to see if there are positive reports on the new one before proceeding with it.

LEGENDS

excellent first episode. Great articulation by the actors, and the serious stuff is backed by smart comic moments.
