Tomorrowland, the renowned European electronic dance music festival, will host its first-ever Asia edition in Thailand this December. The festival, known for its striking stages and massive crowds, will unfold in Pattaya from 11 to 13 December. Organisers anticipate over 50,000 attendees daily, making it a major occasion for both the festival and Thailand.

The decision to bring Tomorrowland to Thailand highlights the country's rising influence in music and tourism. Founded by Belgian brothers Manu and Michiel Beers, Tomorrowland has spent 20 years cultivating its status as an EDM powerhouse. The Thai edition will be the first full-scale festival of its kind in Asia, similar to the iconic gatherings in Belgium.

Tickets will be available for pre-registration starting 8 January, with a three-day “full madness pass” priced at 12,500 baht and single-day passes at 5,100 baht. Details regarding the festival's theme and line-up are expected soon, promising an exciting reveal for fans.

This strategic move includes a five-year hosting agreement with Thailand, projecting an economic impact of 21 billion baht over this period. CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers expressed enthusiasm about expanding to a new continent, highlighting a respectful and exciting approach to this milestone.

Thailand's live music scene has been on the rise, attracting events like Electric Daisy Carnival and Creamfields and featuring on Blackpink's world tour. Moreover, the Wonderfruit festival further cements Thailand's reputation as a thriving hub for music and arts, drawing large crowds annually, reported the BBC.

Key Takeaways:

  • Tomorrowland's Asia debut will be held in Pattaya, Thailand, from 11-13 December.

  • Ticket pre-registration opens on 8 January, with prices starting at 5,100 baht.

  • The festival is expected to generate 21 billion baht over a five-year span.

Thailand highlights the country's rising influence in music...

Is that the old songs that people always sing everywhere or the bonking drums at festivals ... Never heard that a Thai singer got a international hit not even in the region... and I don't speak of the level of many singers

Am hoping to nail the pre-reg to grab 8 tickets.

Thai singer Lisa in hot shot K-pop band Black Pink count? Glad you said 'hit' instead of 'music' as K-pop is more McDonald's than music in my book

Lisa is not a Thai singer. It is a girl that got her education in Korea...that she has the Thai nationality is not important. Only for Thailand.

Than I hope there is more to do than when I saw the public on New Years Eve... They were all standing and doing nothing and the boy at Siam Icon tried to get the crowd in movement, but not even screaming... It just looed no fun at all.. Anyway I will not join Tomorrowland, but I think the expectations are too high...
