A construction crew in Pathum Thani province made a shocking discovery when they found the skeleton of a Cambodian man, missing for some time, concealed in the ceiling during a house renovation. Officers from Lam Luk Ka Police Station quickly responded, supported by a forensic team from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Medical Centre and the Romsai Lam Luk Ka Foundation. The body was identified as 29-year-old Maikheu Chhean, uncovered during ceiling repairs.

The workers, originally suspecting a dead animal due to the strong odour, were startled when a skull fell out. Kanchana, a 59-year-old Thai construction worker, was at the site when she found the remains. Police found the skeleton on roof structures and electrical wiring, alongside a pair of pliers and personal documents confirming the deceased's identity.

Neighbours recalled that Chhean, who worked in construction, had been missing. His wife and children, having returned to Cambodia, searched unsuccessfully when he vanished. A 38-year-old Cambodian worker, Noi, confirmed knowing Chhean and his family, indicating there was no known family conflict.

Police think Chhean might have been electrocuted while cutting wires in the ceiling area. His remains have been forwarded to the Central Institute of Forensic Science Thailand for thorough investigation. The discovery adds a grim chapter to a neighbourhood mystery, drawing local and investigative attention, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways:

  • A skeleton of a missing Cambodian man was found on the Pathum Thani ceiling.

  • The man, identified as Maikheu Chhean, went missing due to suspected electrocution.

  • Police and forensics continue the investigation into the death's circumstances.
