  • I expect these Muslims are Thai citizens. I'm amazed these Israeli backpackers are allowed to have a community like they do. In my experience, they have just finished their national service in the IDF

This discussion about who is welcome in Pai and who is not. Who is not are those who behave like they've just been let out of a cage. Because they have. That cage is the IDF where one can be certain they witnessed unspeakable horrors and maybe even committed some themselves. They may be drowning their regret over those actions. Or not. Fighting PTSD, as with all soldiers?

The point is that these young vets don't respect Thailand. They are aggressive troublemakers, esp when drinking. This is not all Israeli tourists and it has nothing to do with their religion or lack of it. When together, these kids run in packs, just like they did in the IDF. They'regetting nothing out of their travel to Thailand. They take their aggressive and superior culture with them. Who would want that?!?

Maybe they should travel to the five Muslim provinces in the South. As long as they were not behaving as some huge gang, I think the Muslims would welcome them as they seem to welcome everyone. They certainly welcomed me.

Maybe these IDF vets would see a different point of view, see Muslims as human beings instead of targets.

Face it: Thailand sold four provinces to the colonial Brits in Malaya to finance a national railroad. This separated families and communities. They have every right to grievance.

Don't let the facts get in the way of some anti muslimism. (there's a new word for 2026) 😂

What about anti christianism? 🙂

Anti whitemanism. 🙂

We need more "anti ism's" that we can call people so we can take away people's freedom of speech. 🙂

From the linked article:

““I think the locals themselves began to feel threatened by all this campaign that was created around us and against us, and naturally, that caused us to lose support. We don’t blame them.

We will create something together, a project against this thing — antisemitism — so that these organizations understand that if they try to eliminate us, then we will grow fourfold, because we also have backing, we are united. We stand together,” Keizman said.

Pai has a long established Muslim community, maybe they have a different view to that of Keizman.

For someone so quick to champion social justice and freedoms, I ask why you are not concerned by the censorship and targeted abuse?

Thais are tolerant but many I speak to are blunt when talking about "yews".

Didn't take you long did it?

Sounds a lot like American GI's in Bangkok and Pattaya during the Vietnam War.

TV and film industry letter accuses BBC of antisemitism

The letter says the BBC should be "worried they might have a serious, institutional racism problem".

"More than 200 people from the TV and film industry have signed a letter to the BBC board calling for an urgent investigation into what it called "systemic problems of antisemitism and bias" at the corporation."

Which western media didn't? 🙂

Could you talk , rather than just copy and pasting ?

Since then , Pai people are now complaining that its quiet and not many tourists

You come from Western Christian country, you move to the East to a Buddhist Country and you talk to the locals about "Yews".

Just get on an enjoy your life and don't be concerned about "Yews"

There's no Israeli "genocide" -- it's all fake news and innuendo spooned out to the usual echo chamber of terrorist-supporting leftists who are actually secretly (and not so secretly) rooting for the demise of western civilization.

I have no strong opinion about whether Israelis' poor reputation as tourists is well earned or not. But what I do have an opinion about is that it's a real shame to see all the usual suspects rushing to defend those who would... well, who would behave like the terrorist-supporting freaks they are.

The hostages were not released.

Not much difference between Israelis youngsters in Thailand and Brits in Benidorm of Aussie brogans in Bali .

Some youngsters do misbehave when they go abroad

That's great, I treat everyone the same, everyone's a human being until they declare their religion.

Right, so you don't actually treat people the same ?

You treat people differently according to their Religious beliefs .

Why then did you state that you treat everyone the same ?

Pai is losing all its charm due to the hordes of Israelis there now.

I have to disagree. Nothing to do with Israelis.

Pai sucked as far back as 2018 when it became overcrowded with potheads and reiki pushers.

Of course, the natural setting will always be spectacular (aside from burning season 5-6 months of the year).

Israel funded Hamas for many years. Fact.

That is very interesting, only because I heard Ole Dammegard talk of that recently.

Not saying I agree with anything Dammegard says.... But curious nonetheless.

Treating Jews differently, for the sole reason that they are Jewish is basically what Anti Semitism is .

Semites refer to a group of people who speak Semitic languages, which include Arabic, Hebrew, and Amharic, among others.

Could be that the Arabic ones are Muslim?

We all know that Anti Semitic refers to Jews and Jews only .

They're not all down in Phuks and Patts.

Once an Individual declares any belief in whatever religious doctrine, be it, Christian, Muslin, Jewish or fairies at the bottom of the garden, for me , all hope is lost, intelligence wise.

You say Lineker leaving the BBC is shutting down discussion ?

Its actually the complete opposite .

Whilst Lineker was employed by the BBC , he had restrictions placed upon him and he had to comply with the BBCs employment rules .

Now he doesn't work for them, he is free to say anything he wants to
