Know anyone work on ipod (classic)?

Featured Replies

I have an old iPod classic I think it's six generation. I'm looking for someone that can upgrade the device replacing the battery, RAM and click wheel. I have a card of someone that can do it but they don't seem to be so enthusiastic. He's questioning replacing the click wheel and despite me purchasing the parts since reluctant to replace things that work.

If I'm going to do an overhaul on this old bird I want it to be 100%

Wife has a little iPod something or other. 16 GB I forget what model it is. It has Bluetooth. The jack doesn't work but no sense in messing with that

One super downside of the iPod classic is there's no Bluetooth.

I'm really on the fence here because phones really do everything and more these days and far easier to manage and use, play music.

Thanks

I have done mine before, it was a while back.

I bought a new back, new front, battery, new wheel, the board for the sd cards.

I'm not really setup enough at home to take it on for you, but its easy to do yourself, its just clip-in ribbon cable.

Where are you? im sure macupdate in Khon Kaen would do it .. also machome in BKK, he messes around with vintage iMacs. Maybe he would take it on.

Thanks for that. I don't have anything related to repairing electronics. At 65 my sight not great nor my patience. I know I'd screw it up. Would the businesses you mentioned have websites?

He works on vintage Macs - you might need to go there to his little workshop and plead with him, but he's a nice guy. I hope you have success.

Post back, if you dont, If I finally get around to getting my little workbench setup - I could probably help you. good lighting and a comfortable environment is all thats really needed with iPods.

Thanks I just messaged him

Looking at repair videos before I recall the ribbon being very tricky part of the RnR

If you used email then try Line instead. IME Thais tend to not read emails.
