Doing an extension NON O with 9 months left on my passport. What happens do you get only 9 months? Yes doing a new passport soon. Any info welcome.

Yes 9 months extension. Let us know though, there was one report that someone still got 12 months

The extension expiry date will be same as expiry of passport.

Obtain a new pp if you have time.

Yep... Couple of horror stories re renewal of UK pp. More about the actual renewal rather than immigration.

Think in recent months things have improved.

Easy now using VFS in Bangkok, mine took 2 weeks in October

All I can say is that I did this recently with no problems.

I used a reliable agent to deal with the office in

Bangkok, since I did not wish to make a trip there:

they also helped a lot with the form filling.

No problems, it took at most 6 weeks to complete.

You then have to take both passports to the immigration office to get all the necessary stamps transferred.

I went back to UK to do mine. Unfortunately same day was suspended, went to Liverpool and got passport 5 days later. Came back on an e-visa so nothing to transfer, all very easy.

April is a good month to be somewhere else.

If you dont get a passport in time, you only get 9 months. Just means your renewal just moves forward 3 months earlier.

Which might be of benefit. Mines currently right on New year high season. Busiest time of year at immigration.

I toyed with going with the 9 months extension but the new extension date would have been very busy at Jomtien, January
