The new Thai Isuzu V cross is high tech now and good safety

Featured Replies

The new Thai Isuzu V cross is as high tech as my high end luxury car. When reversing it has the rear and front collision alert and automatic stop systems. So if you are reversing and a vechile drives past it will auto stop. Same at the front if driving below a certain speed. It will stop the driver rear ending the car in front if one is day dreaming

It also has the blind spot monitoring system and the system to keep you in the same lane if you are accidently drifting over to the other lane.

It also has 4WD. It has a 3.0L engine but only HP 190.

Do you know any other pickups that have this tech? Last year Ford didnt have any. Nor did Toyota. I assume they will be copying Isuzu this year or next?

For the high end model its 1.3 mill plus 36k for the rear lockable sliding thing to protect your stuff in the tray.

I think Im going to sell my current car and buy this pickup. If you are a pickup driver in Thailand what do you think about this model? For your current pickup, has the rear ever slided out of control ie in wet weather. If theres not much weight in the back then does this happen at all?

cheers

I've had five Isuzus (4 company, one personal) and two Toyotas (1 company, one personal).

I would have bought Isuzu again except my wife wanted the Fortuner.

I would look at the top model Highlander, I think it's the best value.

Isuzu service is much better IMO than Toyota and cheaper. And no up-selling

the model I mention above has the anti collision at front and rear. I dont think any other brand of pick up has this. Its the same as a volvo for example. excellent safety

I am not interested in anti-collision.

Where are you? The downside to a big vehicle in BKK is parking.

Look at the MuX also

The MuX should have the same safety features, and it rides better.

Nissan have all the same tech, I think others do too?

Terra has ...

Camera blind spot warnings with alarm and warning lights on mirrors, front radar, auto emergency braking, parking alarms, video and normal rear view mirror (handy when rear is full of stuff). Harmon Kardon sound system, Android auto and more.

I think Thai truck based SUV's are excellent for long distance in comfort, and the ride of the Nissan is surprisingly good. The locking diff and low range 4 wheel drive is also great for our farm visits. Plus 1000 km range on one tank.

But one annoying thing for me is that it has two rear cameras and two front, but I still need to fit another two for the dash cam. Why can't they use the cameras for an in-built dash cam system?

I think Ford may be the current leader in the truck/SUV sector? ... but they are expensive! A new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport must be due soon, as the current one is based on the old truck.

Isuzu seem to have the best reputation, especially amongst farmers, so they must be doing something right, and of course Thai's love Toyota.

The Terra is good looking.

I checked last year and they have zero safety tech. ie no auto stop at front or rear. Toyota didnt have it last year either.

Isuzu is the best in my opinion

Just had a look .... the top end Rangers and the Everest have autonomous braking and pedestrian safety braking.

With Isuzu and Nissan it's available on most models.
