Four youths, wanted for murder in Sta. Ana, Manila, were arrested. The suspects are Gedrick Rodillas, 18, ranked as the top most wanted person at the station level, AJ Atienza, also 18, ranked fourth, and two unnamed 16-year-olds ranked second and third due to their minor status.

According to the Manila Police District's Warrant and Subpoena Section, the arrests occurred at 5:45 p.m. on Friday on Zobel Roxas St., following a tip about the suspects' location. They were apprehended without resistance using warrants issued by Judge Cristina Javalera Sulit of the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 140 on June 13, 2024.

The murder case originated from an incident on December 1, 2023, when Rodillas and his accomplices allegedly stabbed a man on P. Ocampo St., Brgy. La Paz, Makati City. The motive was jealousy, as Rodillas discovered his girlfriend was texting another man. He coerced her to meet the text mate at a gas station, where he and his companions attacked and fatally stabbed the victim three times.

Investigation by Makati City Police revealed that jealousy was indeed the driving factor behind the violence. Rodillas, upon discovering the text messages, called in his friends to confront the victim, leading to the tragic outcome.

With the suspects in custody, the legal process will proceed as the case develops. Authorities may further investigate any additional connections or motives related to the crime, reported Balita.
