Dumping US treasuries. A remedy?

Europe holds a lot of US treasuries. As a counter measure to hostile US actions, the following "remedy" has surfaced:

Europe should sell their treasuries and thus US interest rates will skyrocket. Brilliant, isn't it?

Not at all: The big sell-off will cause US treasuries to nose dive, causing massive losses for European investors, pension funds and all asset classes having anything to do with US treasuries. Including European Central Banks holding massive amounts of US dept.

And: As a little "side effect", global financial markets will enter a phase of total chaos, as never seen before.

Let's face it, such suicidal counter-acts will not serve as a remedy to counter US economical hostilities against Europe.

Strictly speaking, Europe has no means to stifle the imperialistic ambitions of the current US administrations. None. Except for being "outraged", of course.
