Police have uncovered evidence connecting Kalasin provincial councillor Patthanun Chandorn and his wife, Parinya Mukdasamutsan, to an extensive online gambling network. As authorities hunt for the couple, their activities on the Banhuay98 platform have come to light, with financial transactions used to trace their involvement. Arrest warrants are now issued for both suspects amid ongoing investigations.

The investigation began following public complaints and social media reports in May 2025, linking Banhuay98 to young politicians in Kalasin. The platform, operational since 2012, reportedly caters to over 10,000 users with a turnover exceeding 150 million baht annually. Initial arrests of key operators came after social media ads promoting lottery bets were identified, allowing police to delve deeper into the network.

Deputy commissioner Pol Maj Gen Chachpanthkanth Khlaykhlung stated that financial trails pointed directly to Patthanun and Parinya. Significant monetary transfers were traced to their accounts, often exceeding 100 monthly transactions, implicating them as central figures in the network. Despite efforts to hide these activities, analysis of transactions dating back to 2019 revealed laundering through nominee accounts and investments in local businesses.

These businesses included night markets, cafés, football pitches, and a fighting-cock farm, allegedly used to conceal gambling proceeds. As the case develops, the Criminal Court has issued warrants on charges of illegal online gambling and money laundering. Both suspects remain at large, with police urging them to surrender, reported Bangkok Post.
