Yolida Yogurt -- Missing!

Featured Replies

The plain no sugar Yolida yogurt with active cultures is a staple food for me.

For a number of days now -- it is nowhere to be found.

It's a national product but here's where I've looked for it in the Pattaya area:

Tops (mini market)

Top online (Central Food Hall)

Foodmart

Big C online

OK -- there is a 1.8 kg. size on Tops online but I don't want it that big.

Other parts of Thailand -- same story?

What's going on?

I do have a clue. I saw an alternative Yolida product online a few weeks ago with very different packaging that seems to emphasize the active cultures more maybe as a branding thing.

But if that's going to replace the old standard -- that's not available either!

That's one of my staples as well, but I buy the 1.8 kg container.

I checked the Big C website just now and all sizes of Yolida yoghurt are "available soon", meaning they have no stock.

Must be something up.

Update for Pattaya area.

That massive bucket that I said was on the Tops online website actually didn't exist when you choose it.

Currently Tops online out of Yolida yogurt entirely.

There is an alternative brand of no sugar plain yogurt that I don't recall seeing before that I was able to order.

Big C Online now which previously had no Yolida but showed it as coming soon, now shows it available.

So the "great" Yolida yogurt crisis of 2026 appears on the wane.

For people who actually go outside at least once in a while, there was no shortage.

I am reliably informed that TOPS Central had/has ample stock. Best Before 03/03/26.

I call BS.

Tops online reflects stock at in my location Central.Mall.

I just checked now and indeed it's shown online again.

My local Tops Daily in person hasn't stocked it for much longer.

So you call BS, but then agree that it's in stock. I don't remember claiming that your local TOPS Daily had it in stock. I stated that TOPS Central had it in stock when I checked with them yesterday afternoon. You of course wouldn't know, as you didn't go further than your local TOPS Daily in order to check.

More BS from you

It has indeed been out of stock for several days at Central..

Now we both agree it is back in stock.

We agree on that.

You think that if you abuse me it changes the facts? I gave you the facts. It was in stock(small and medium size) when I checked yesterday at 4pm...when you were still whining that it wasn't in stock online. Those are FACTS. Using poor language to cover up your failures just reflects badly on you. I suggest that you stop that.

Reminder. It was you who started the insults.

Again you're just acting the pest for sport.

Again it had been out of stock for several days at Central.

Obviously at some point itt was going to be stocked again unless if the product was discontinued.

If you said you had prooftm it was in stock there 4 days ago you would have something.

All you've proven is that there was a very short lag between restocking and that showing up online. Big whoop.

I didn't check four days ago. I checked yesterday at 4pm. It was in stock then, whilst you were still claiming this morning that it was out of stock.

Just the facts. No childish name calling and equally childish attempts at point scoring, as you are wont to do.

You were telling people in Pattaya that it was out of stock, when it was not.

I request that this topic be locked.

The several day issue with stocking Yolida yogurt has now been resolved.

No point in keeping it open just to attract further troll posts.

If missing, or if NOT missing, then not a problem, really, because:

As we all know, low-fat is not good.

Also, concerning the LACTIC ACID.....

I have had enough of the lactic acid, and the pain it causes in my muscles, when I once ran my marathons in Boston.

I agree. Low fat is just tasteless. I usually buy full fat Greek style yoghurt.

Well I did ask this to be closed but since it isn't, I have a related yogurt topic to talk about rather than to start a new topic.

First of all, I've found stocks of the small Yolida size very spotty but sometimes available. The medium sized container which is OK for me has about three of the small size (which I prefer)

It so happens during the full Yolida drought that I bought a tub of Dairy Home no sugar organic yogurt. I think it is full fat and it tastes very good.

HOWEVER (mock me if you like) I couldn't figure out to OPEN the bugger!

It has button type thing on the top that says OPEN and everything I tried to press it. use it as a lever, slide the top while pressing had no effect. I ended up slashes the top with a knife which wasn't hard to do but then don't have an intact top for storage.

So if you do know how to open it with the button, here's your chance to say.

I use a tea spoon to ease it open.

You may (or not) be interested in my research on yoghurt in Thailand.

Low fat is good if you are working to a calorie deficit.

I balance it up with a mix of low fat and full fat Greek yogurts - and also mix in the likes of Yolida, organic yogurt and the red topped plastic container of yogurt from Friendship.

I still recall vividly, while on Long Island, around 1963, we would walk to the corner store and buy plain yogurt.

Dannon Yogurt.

8-oz size

USD0.25 per "container"

Also, the containers used by Danon were MUCH better than they are these days.

image.png

After Dannon switched to plastic cup packaging....

I STOPPED eating yogurt.

This is no lie.

Also, they upped the price by a factor of 20.

They downsized the capacity of the container by 25-percent.

How can I go back to eating yogurt, these days, when it is a fact that I feel like I am getting ...

Ripped Off, in so many ways,

Every time I think of how much better the stuff was when we were not being ripped off.

I will just do without.

And, it is better this way.

I do not want to be reminded of the state of the world,

Just before a meal.

Could you please be more specific on exactly how you used a spoon?

I tried that to put pressure on the open button and also under the button to try to wedge it open. No luck. Yeah it feels like an IQ test that I failed

Maybe we have different Dairy Home pots.......you speak of a 'button', but I am referring to taking a tea spoon to the plastic 'clasp' on the side (where you can break a nail trying to break off the plastic.

I will have a look at the weekend when I do my next shop.

From memory, you snap off the tab, which gives you space to get your finger under the lid to prise it off.

Thanks.

That makes perfect sense.

I didn't see the small section marked OPEN as a tab to remove but rather a button to be pushed.

On the other hand I did play around with it and it didn't seem to me as something that would be easy to remove.

But if I try that brand again, I will try that approach with optimism.

Yes it was dumb of me to not try harder to remove it. I may never live it down.

No, you just realise the positive of having different perspectives. You might not always appreciate it, but they are just a different perspective from your own. Treat them both the same. Nothing of which to be ashamed nor to proclaim yourself dumb. It's NOTHING.
