Festival highlights Vietnam's vibrant traditional and contemporary culture

Hanoi's Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026 has opened, offering a rich blend of cultural and artistic activities. The event celebrates the success of the 14th National Party Congress and the 96th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, marking a new phase of national development.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ta Quang Dong, emphasized that the festival underscores the enduring values of Vietnamese culture during a pivotal time post-Congress. The event aligns with the Politburo’s Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, focusing on culture as a foundation for sustainable development.

The festival enjoys participation from ASEAN embassies and foreign cultural centers, highlighting Vietnam’s focus on multilateral and diverse international relations. It features various cultural spaces where Vietnam's traditional culture interacts with modern influences.

A key attraction is the “Spring with the Party” exhibition, which showcases over 120 images of the Party’s history, especially emphasizing the achievements of the 14th National Congress. This exhibition reaffirms the leadership's vision for future development.

The festival includes a "Vietnamese Tet" zone, light art installations, and exhibits on ceramics and Vietnamese tea culture. There are also areas dedicated to Tay ethnic culture and cuisine, along with hands-on activities like traditional cake making.

Art performances and cultural exchanges between Vietnam, Korea, and India contribute to a lively atmosphere, promoting community cohesion. These diverse activities provide a platform for preserving and celebrating Vietnam's cultural vibrancy.

Running until February 9, the festival is a reflection of Vietnam's commitment to its cultural roots and its aspiration for innovative growth. Through this event, Vietnam not only honors its past but also embraces a future of cultural and economic prosperity.
