HKT->KUL->HKT same day

Featured Replies

I have done this same day round trip many times. Anyone done this recently?

Depends on your visa. If you have a re-entry permit, this is obviously fine. If you do this kind of same-day OUT-IN to get a new visa exempt or tourist visa entry, on the other hand, it would be considered a "border run" and you might be questioned and/or denied entry based on your history and the IO's "discretion".

What visa/reentry permit do you have.

If (my guess) is that you are planning a bounce for ve entry then IMO... Danger.

Edit: I see from your other thread you plan to enter Thailand with an visa that you obtained in Vietnam.

Should be possible.

Assume the previous entry to Thailand was prior to issue date of eVisa.

Normally, I come with METV (eVisa) and have never had a problem with same day return. This season I come VE from the USA (Sep 25), 30-day extension, VE from Vietnam (Dec 29), and will bounce KUL Feb 26, with an eVisa dated Jan 4 that expires in April, I think that I am good to enter and 30-day extend?

So in essence you have already been Thailand for 5+ months on visa exempt + extensions.

Now do side shuffle to obtain METV eVisa.

Want to bounce and enter Thailand with the freshly minted eVisa.

You might be fine.

Frankly find that cocktail a joke.

Consider safe entry service despite the fact you have a visa for entry.

If the evisa was issued on Jan 4 and you were in Thailand on Jan 4, that potentially might be flagged up. Or Immigration may not care. I don't know how clever their systems are. Alternatively it may just be the date of application that counts when you were presumably in Vietnam.

Given your history, and your idea to bounce on the same day, and entering Phuket, I would definitely go with a safe entry service.

This is why i am here asking your opinion... my passport is filled with METV. To date I only have 2 VE entries and 1 extension all of which happened in 2025. Haha! i wouldn't call it a side shuffle, just trying to do things the way they want it. I only need 90 more days and then i am home for months. When I return, back to the METV. Thanks guys...
