Gulf Cities Rocked By Blasts As Iran Refuses Talks

Fresh explosions have been heard across multiple Gulf cities after Iran’s top national security official declared Tehran “will not negotiate” with the United States.

CNN teams on the ground reported loud blasts in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. In Dubai, journalists heard “two back-to-back blasts” and fighter jets overhead. In Doha, video showed what appeared to be missile interceptions lighting up the morning sky. A CNN team in Abu Dhabi described a “huge explosion.”

The escalation follows comments from Ali Larijani, a senior Iranian powerbroker and secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, who said Tehran would not return to negotiations with Washington. He accused President Donald Trump of plunging the region into chaos and warned of further instability.

Iran Fires New Missile Barrage At Israel

The Israel Defense Forces said Iran launched a new wave of missiles toward Israel on Monday. Air defence systems were activated, with preliminary alerts sent to civilians’ mobile phones in affected areas.

Meanwhile, sirens rang out in Bahrain, with the interior ministry urging residents to remain calm and seek shelter.

The renewed attacks come amid an already volatile exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran, following the reported killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Hezbollah Enters The Fight

Hezbollah confirmed it had launched missiles at an Israeli base “in revenge” for the killing of Iran’s supreme leader. Israel has vowed further strikes on Lebanon in response, opening another dangerous front in the widening conflict.

The tit-for-tat attacks risk dragging Lebanon deeper into a regional war, with cross-border fire intensifying.

Pentagon Briefings Undercut White House Narrative

In Washington, Pentagon briefers reportedly told congressional staff that Iran was not preparing to strike US forces unless Israel attacked first. That assessment appears to contradict earlier White House claims of an imminent Iranian threat used to justify US strikes.

The discrepancy is likely to fuel political scrutiny of the administration’s decision-making as the conflict deepens.

Oil, Air Travel And Evacuations Disrupted

The war is sending shockwaves far beyond the battlefield. Airspace closures and missile interceptions have disrupted commercial flights across the Gulf. Oil flows — critical to global markets — are under strain, raising fears of price spikes.

Governments attempting to evacuate citizens from affected areas face mounting logistical challenges as the security situation deteriorates.

With Iran refusing talks, Hezbollah joining the fight and missile exchanges expanding across multiple countries, the region appears locked in a fast-moving and highly unpredictable confrontation.

Travel Paralysis And Evacuations

The fallout is global. Dubai International Airport and Zayed International Airport were damaged, stranding more than 20,000 travelers. The UAE says it will cover food and hotel costs for those stuck.

Governments across Asia are scrambling. Thailand says it is preparing military or charter evacuations for its 110,000 nationals in the region. India, Pakistan and Japan have also activated contingency plans.

Oil flows are disrupted. Airspace across a wide Middle East corridor is restricted.

What began as targeted strikes has spiraled into a region-wide confrontation — with no sign yet of an off-ramp.

I guess that means the Donald was lying(again) when he claimed that Iran wanted to talk to him.

When you've killed the senior leadership, who is there left to represent the govt. Who does the talking, or will somebody just wing it?

How Hezbollah is in on it. Their base is Lebanon which means Israel will bomb Lebanon (again). Hamas leadership in Qatar? There goes the neighbourhood.
