100,000 Brits Register As Gulf Crisis Triggers Evac Plan

More than 100,000 British nationals have signed up for emergency assistance as Whitehall prepares what could become one of the largest peacetime evacuations in modern UK history.

Around 94,000 Britons have already registered with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office “Register Your Presence” system, with estimates suggesting as many as 300,000 UK citizens are currently in Gulf states hit by Iranian retaliation.

Airspace across parts of the region remains heavily restricted after coordinated US-Israeli strikes on Iran triggered waves of missile and drone attacks targeting cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Kuwait City.

Evacuation By Land?

Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said contingency plans are being drawn up for potential overland evacuations from the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar into Saudi Arabia if airspace closures persist.

“We are working on every possible option,” she said, urging British nationals to shelter in place and follow local guidance.

The scale is unprecedented. The UK evacuated more than 15,000 people from Afghanistan in 2021 — but this operation could dwarf that.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer is facing mounting pressure as disruption spreads. Nearly 6,000 flights have been cancelled globally since the escalation began, according to FlightRadar data, with dozens of departures from Heathrow Airport scrapped.

Major carriers including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Qatar Airways have suspended or rerouted services.

RAF Akrotiri Targeted

Tensions intensified after Iran reportedly launched a drone at RAF Akrotiri, the UK’s key military base in Cyprus. A dispersal order was issued for non-essential personnel, with families told to prepare emergency bags.

Chaos On The Ground

Dubai International Airport was damaged in missile strikes, with smoke rising and thousands stranded. Influencers and expats posted dramatic updates from the Palm Jumeirah, describing missile interceptions overhead and emergency alerts in the night.

The Government has now advised against travel to 21 countries across the Middle East and surrounding region, warning those already there to shelter, avoid military sites and keep documents ready.

For now, the message is clear: register, stay put, wait for instructions.

But with airspace shut, missiles flying and hundreds of thousands of Britons caught in the blast radius, the pressure on London is mounting by the hour.

With airspaces closed, are they gonna evacuate them by boat?

Those Brit tax dodgers should lose their citizenship and be sent to Ukraine. Living with Slavs is the perfect punishment for them. Ukrainians in Ukraine are claiming UK benefits and using our NHS. Now with the internet , those crafty Ukrainians are taking our UK jobs. They are doing online cam $ex work. Those Ukrainians needs to be deported from Ukraine to Israel where most of them went 70 years ago.

Hard to find work in the UK. Run by idiots. Plenty of jobs in the middle east.

That might be the most intellectually bankrupt cocktail of xenophobia and half-digested understanding I’ve seen in a while. You’ve managed to confuse tax law, citizenship law, war, migration history, online labour markets and 20th-century geopolitics - all in one breathless tantrum.

If this is the level of analysis behind it, the real national crisis isn’t immigration - it’s critical thinking of people like you.

How fittingly droll ! A 21th century Death March !

I am cynically amused at the revelations of how many nationalities are spread around the world in countries not their own yet are often vocal about the immigrant issue back home !

A new wave of Islamist refugees soon to be escaping lunar landscapes ?
