Is Trump deliberately trying to sabotage the world economy?

One of his campaign promises was to bring down food prices and bring down the price of goods and give American some relief from the levels of inflation seen during the Biden Administration. However he has completely failed in doing so, the tariffs caused prices to rise, and now with this ridiculous and unnecessary war prices are bound to skyrocket.

American consumers and businesses are taking most of the hit from President Donald Trump’s tariffs, New York Federal Reserve President John Williams said Tuesday in remarks that counter White House claims.

“The tariffs have overwhelmingly been borne domestically — a New York Fed analysis estimates that most of the burden has fallen on U.S. firms and consumers.,” Williams said in remarks for a conference in Washington, D.C. “In addition, the tariffs have already meaningfully increased U.S. prices of imported goods, and the full effects have likely not yet been felt.”

In a white paper published on the New York Fed’s website, a team of researchers found that as much as 90% of the added cost from tariffs has been passed on to domestic producers and consumers. Trump and other White House officials had insisted that exporters would absorb the costs rather than raise prices.

New York Fed's Williams says tariff burden falls 'overwhelmingly' on the U.S.

Global gas prices have soared this week amid fears of a lengthy disruption to energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz — a key shipping route running between Oman and Iran that handles about one-fifth of global LNG trade — as the Iran conflict escalates.

Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF) futures, Europe’s benchmark gas contract, rose 35% on Tuesday to more than 60 euros ($69.64) per megawatt-hour. On the week, prices are around 76% higher.

The Northeast Asia LNG benchmark, the Japan-Korea-Marker (JKM), which captures deliveries to Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan, reached a one-year high, and was last seen around 43 euros per megawatt-hour. U.K. natural gas was also sharply higher.

Qatar, one of the world’s largest LNG producers, halted production on Monday following Iranian drone strikes at Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City. Goldman Sachs estimated the pause will reduce near-term global LNG supply by about 19%.

Yes. Its deliberate sabotage.

Trump is the greatest evil the world has ever seen. His goal is to destroy all life on the planet.

Yes he should have been removed from office YEARS AGO!

No, that job is being taken care of by the multi Billionaires.

Trump is anti woke and anti left.

He's deliberately trying to antagonize you guys. 😂

I don't believe Trump is better or worse than his predecessors. After all, he is only human. And what history has shown, is that humans are capable of the most heinous acts, void of all logic where the outcome is so openly bizarre, it defies any common sense and contradicts what humans have been trying to sell to each other for centuries: that we humans are really all good. Trump wants to annex Greenland, Canada and do a lot of silly things yet hardly anyone pushes back and tells him to go away. Ergo, this isn't just a Trump issue, it's a humanity issue. Every human has a little psychopath waiting to get out. Trump, Hitler, Netanyahu, the guy in China, North Korea, and the thousands of psychopaths before Trump, and thousands that will emerge after him, is nothing more than human beings letting their little psychopath out of the closet. We don't need AI, we don't need a new world order and international law (that no one complies with anyway), we need a DNA make-over to remove violent and selfish tendencies. Human beings will most likely obliterate themselves making way for a new species. Maybe Planet of the Apes, Planet of Household Pets or the Planet without Human Beings? How peaceful would that be?!

Most will assume you are referring to white supremacy eugenics without actually taking a moment to look logically at this. How long will our species trot down this path of violence and destruction before real changes happen.

Now cue the npc responses.

Now that's a stretch. Trump only human? He's clearly an alien sent here to destroy us. Looks like it's working.

I am truly shocked that I got three (3), yes three down votes (the red thumbs down). Based on aggregated data from Wikipedia's "List of wars by death toll", it is estimated that roughly 570 million to 1 billion+ people have died in all wars throughout human history. Like I said in my earlier post, Trump is your average human psychopath. Not an extraterrestrial. History is littered with small to medium to big Trumps. They may have had different names in the past but they all are/were selfish psychopaths. Therefore, it's not a one-off issue. It's a human issue because narcissism, psychopathy and evil are part of our DNA. There's no devil 👿. If there were, he'd be a human being, like Trump et al..🤥. Please upvote as I can't handle the rejection...😬

It isn't deliberate, it's willful ignorance. Trump cannot string together a line of thought. Besides, he knows his Donor Class has enough money for $5 a gallon gas, common folks be damned.

He still thinks foreign countries pay the tariffs. How dumb is that?

Regarding Iran, had you asked him last Thursday what the leadership structure of Iran is, how many people they have, how many in the different military branches, he wouldn't have a clue. I doubt he could point out Iran on a map. He probably watched the movie "300" and thinks, "Nobody knows more about Iran than me".

He seems to have not thought through the idea Iran would strike out at GCC countries. I suspect he thought he could just rattle his saber and Iran would tremble and fall to its knees, like Republicans in Congress.

What is becoming apparent now is that the US was not prepared for this war. The US was still building up its forces and weaponry. The timing was dictated by Israel, not Trump or the US. Now the US announced it is sending more troops and gear to the region, which confirms the fact it was not ready.

Now Trump is announcing he will provide security to ULCCs moving through Hormuz, plus have the US taxpayer insure the vessels. Iran, if it chooses, might see that and go to the source: more attacks on production facilities like Ras Tanura or Saudi GOSPs or Qatari LNG facilities, figuring if there's nothing to load onto the ULCCs, they can pass through Hormuz at their leisure.

It's also abundantly clear Trump has no plan for what comes next. Netanyahu does, which is send Iran back to the Stone Age, 93,000,000 people be damned, even if they were innocent victims of the theocracy. Trump is so naive he thinks blowing up a country will make the masses rejoice, overthrow their govt, and maybe buy memberships at Mar-a-Lago, or at least get in on his meme coin.

As bad as the ayatollah and his Admin were, it still had the same level of support Trump has in the US. Given that outsiders are now destroying infrastructure, support for the theocracy will likely increase. Funny how tribalism works in humans.

Trump is now faced with two possibilities: manufacture some definition of "success" and then claimed he achieved it, which would allow him to withdraw (That would upset Netanyahu). The second choice is to do Netayahu's bidding and drive Iran back into the Stone Age. That's the racist alternative, and will likely find support among the armchair warriors of MAGA.

Trump squandered the nuclear deal leaving only war as the only tool left in the box to deal with Iran yagoda ……he attacked that country under color of negotiation yagoda ……he has successfully set the Middle East ablaze yagoda …..lucid people are rightly concerned. The Iranians were not engaged in provactive behavior before being attacked under color of negotiation…..this is more a war about trump propping up his sagging approval ratings and distracting from his relationship to his bestie Jeffery Epstein the kiddie rapist…….but don’t worry we have cosplay Barbie in charge of homeland security and the 22 year old side kick in charge of domestic security……against the Iranians…….what could possibly go wrong.OBVIOUSLY lucid people are rightly concerned.

So lame and uneducated a viewpoint. I see so little of critique coming from Republicans these days, to point where their absolute fealty is actually quite frightening. Most just can't handle critique of Trump, they immediately clam up, get defensive and start making it personal. Instead of behaving like rational intellectuals and debating policy they just start throwing out nonsense, accusations that I've never criticized my own party, or that I get paid to be critical of Trump. That is not only ridiculous, it is inane. I wish somebody would offer to pay me to criticize Trump. I would spend my whole day doing it.

Criticism and open mindedness is what independent thinkers engage in, and it sets them apart from dogmatic subjects of a wannabe king. I invite you to reflect on that for just a moment.

With many people, once they got attached to a theory, it was hard to get them detached. They’d screen out unhelpful facts, invent favorable ones, and ignore contradictions in their own claims. Look at those Sandy Hook, multiple fraud convictions, and Jan. 6th truthers, babbling about false flags and crisis actors and all the rest. When people were motivated enough to believe something, they were going to believe it no matter what. There was no such thing as a bridge too far.

Coming from the side that just shouts fascist nazi etc.

Critical thinking?

Look in the mirror Mike

Problem is so many people hate Trump.

Should we adopt a new way to elect leaders?

Here's how they do it in Iran.

The Supreme Leader is voted in by an "Assembly of Experts" consisting of 86 experts. 86 seems like a good number to me. Maybe we should copy Iran's system.

Finally you say something I agree with. When you have a POTUS who can pivot from war dead to new ballroom golden curtains mid sentence, be very afraid. The electorate have chosen a monster.

There are a multitude of reasons for this hatred of trump he deserves a deep level of scorn and disrespect as he's accomplished very little except create tremendous amounts of Chaos and utterly decimate local economies in America. You seem to be forgetting the fact that a democracy is built upon the ability to debate, and that includes criticism of policy. Unfortunately in this day and age most MAGA supporters just do not have much tolerance of that concept. It is as if they are mimicking the grand puppet.

Not sure what's goin' on in Spain.

Spain was disobedient, the Spanish had the nerve to not show fealty to the new king, and the 13-year-old is having a hissy fit over it. He is so insecure he has so much self-loathing and such low self-esteem, that any sort of rejection, any sort of complaint, any disagreement, and it's considered total renouncement of everything he stands for, and he loses his mind. Not that he ever truly possessed it to begin with as he is at least partially insane.
