Sorry for the typo, but this typo changes the entire meaning of Elon's plans. Originally, Musk decided to not go to the Moon, as he considered it a wast of time, ie, been there and done that. However, recently, Elon has rethought a colony on the Moon, as soon as possible, which will be required for production of solar generators, and assembly of... HUMONGOUS Data Centers in the sky above Earth. These generators will be shot into space using an electric rail gun, and no need for rocket propellant, for the purpose of powering... Orbiting AI Data Centers. How do I know this? Elon keeps me informed. This does NOT mean that the Mars Journey is off the table. We will decide which is the BEST LAUNCH WINDOW according to the shortest trajectory to the Red Planet. My only worry, of course, is that the regolith on Mars is so extremely corrosive that the challenges will become overwhelming. The journey to Mars is simple as pie, by comparison.
