Usually they accept 800k bank letter as at the day before, not now, needs to be same day, means you can't go early anymore.

Yes, that's why I was asking in case the IO (new guy) was just in a bad mood, although someone said on another thread they've been told to be stricter

Jomtien require bank letter and statement same day for marriage extension too..have done for years,this Tuesday they told me they are being stricter this year on orders from head office..they told my wife to check the line app before coming back to the office to get final stamp in the passport as there may well be a backlog or further documentation required

we wait and see.
