This happened to a friend of mine back in the states once. She woke up one day with her body virtually covered with a rash that sounds vaguely like what you describe....no reason was ever discovered...the doctor gave her something for itch (it didn't itch very bad though it looked terrible)..and it was gone in about a week and a half....end of story.

Difficult to say but you could have anything from a over night mosquito spray in your room to bad air from the aircon or an allergie from a food additive. Depends on what kind of chilli you eat etc.

I would go to the doctor to make sure it's not too serious. Did you have anything like fever, running nose or red eyes (Allergie?) etc?

Whatever response you get you will still need to see a doctor. You must be extremely uncomfortable and it may get a whole lot worse ..

Did you have fish? Especially tuna, macarel can cause rashes.

If not, had you been with any whores?

If it's all over, better have it checked out by a doctor. In the meantime, drink lots of water to flush out as much as possible.

Did you change any thing recently, like a new soap, new bedding, new pet, or a recent jungle trek, swim in the ocean, in a pool?

Good news people it has gone........

Never found out what it was...as i said absolutely nothing had changed, soap, swimming, change of bed linen(not clothes some1 is right way to hot to wear anything but a pair of shorts)it just came and stayed a few days and went..so if anyone has anything like this in the future...even toug it looks bad and itch's for a few days...it;ll go away so no need to pay expensive docs or hospital..

Thanks

I had the same experience some time ago..

Woke up the next morning with this big rash all over my body.. Didn't itch that much, but it looked horrible... I thought it was because I got wet from the rain the night before or something that was put in my nachos (what I had for dinner)... Anyhow, went to the doctors shortly after waking up to those rash as I could see they were like spreading. The doctor gave me some pills and some lotion to rub on the rash and rash was gone in the evening on the same day. The doctor said it could have been food or from the weather-- I thought it was from the dirty rain..

I get a horrible 'crotch rot' rash on every visit. even with 2 showers per day & multiple cloths changes.

once the (my) rash has started, one long afternoon in sweaty cloths can result in a terrible rash.

i blame it on Thai style laundry service, 'hand wash agitation' with cold water, minimal soap & line dry

i keep considering bringing my own Tide & locating a washing machine w/ hot water / dryer service.

even after returning home it seems that if I wear 'clean shorts' from my luggage the condition persists, worsens or returns.

I rewash all my cloths, even the 'clean' cloths in my luggage.

the pharmacies have creams & ointments.

I 'was taken apart' on my last re-entry home & thankfully my meds came from a legit doctor / clinic that had properly labeled my meds for international travel .. the customs officer indicated that if my prescription meds did not appear to him to be legit medical prescriptions from a doctor with my name typed on each package (I had multiple tubes of the assorted creams) he would have the right to confiscate.

oh, & granted i do not live in the tropics, I never get such a condition at home even during the 30 c days of summer.

baby powder all over your nads, groin, buttock folds before putting your underwear on. has worked for me for 10 years now.
