Aren't you embarrassed to live in Pattaya

Featured Replies

Not necessarily.

Because you've been planning your whole life frantically for decades.

So some people in retirement really just want to decompress.

The stress builds up over the years. We're always on the go, always have a to do list for years and years.

I prefer a weekly plan. Otherwise nothing to aim for. If you don't plan your life somebody else will.

    Nope, love living here.

I’m more curious where you live that’s so flawless. A utopia, is it? No drunks, no dodgy headlines, no locals behaving badly… just everyone sipping herbal tea and filing their taxes early?

Why do you have such a compulsion to post dispiriting content on this forum. That’s the question you should be asking.

Seems like the only reason you post is to antagonize people.

If he had any real friends, he would not feel the need to do so. As you can imagine, they might avoid engaging with him. So he comes here, posting on every available thread, hoping for engagement. All his 'knowledge' via YT and AI.

So you're working in Thailand?

So you're not of retirement age, so why are you telling retired people what to do?

What do you do? Bouncer?

I think you understand that is simply the way that your particular brain is wired. Not everyone needs to behave in the same way. As you can tell, your behaviour is seen as quite odd to many here. It's okay to be different, you just have to understand that it may appear a bit 'over the top' to a few.

I can agree with you that there are perhaps lots of women like yourself. I once went to meet a girl in South Korea and she had created a whole spreadsheet of things she might say to me and what we might do during the visit. She was not the only one who exhibited such behaviour. So you aren't alone. You have @fredwiggy here sorry

You can do what you want but you sound bored. You said you hated gyms. So what's the next plan? If you don't have plans you life won't approve.

Get off the internet.

They won't reveal anything about themselves. Merely looking for victims with whom to engage with their obsessive behaviour.

That won't improve your life. You need firm plans. Won't don't you go visit Siem Reap temples or go snorkelling in Trang? Do something.

He is not in Thailand. If he was he would post up proof. I mentioned earlier I am cooking up Mexican tonight and had no tortilla chips so went to Tops. I happily post up the receipt as its where I live, been here in Don Muang over 30 years now.

Come on Rocky post up your receipt. You are so active and always doing stuff. Just go get a toastie or some "coconut water" at your local 7/11 and post up the receipt. You can do it.

That would be major trolling and the scam of the century if he's not even in Thailand.

El Sabor for sure. My choice too. Salted variety, of course. Currently 89 baht at Big C 😊

Bon appetit!

What things did you do in Thailand this year that are worth mentioning? Or just chores like Fred.

Come on post up that receipt. You love to get out and about. 15 minutes and you should be able to post it up. Hell use one from your gym.

I don't know

A cry for help? Try professional advice perhaps.

I always say Jomtien we wanted cheap and we got cheap and it's cheap for a reason. Also if the Thais rise up and start a Rwanda type genocide of farangs then we stand a chance. It will require alliances with the Russians here as well. But I have no problem with that.

I assume the references to "work" actually should read "on AN posting insults" and the "Gym" references are the time you spend on AI looking up the ridiculous stats you quote!

What is the cheapest gym?

I don't do gym - but I think it used to be Tony's when he was a thing. Pattaya's very own Al Pacino

This Youtuber George Newman just put out a video comparing city life to beach life in Thailand. Some people don't necessarily even choose the best option for themselves and end up getting bored ... there are pros and cons to each place you live.

Where did you say you are again? I can't imagine being in the middle of nowhere Thailand. It's not for me.

I like and agree with much in this video

Choosing the best lifestyle FOR YOU, is, I think, key.

As you get older, the things that stimulate and sustain you do change...that is my experience.

For me, sometimes I desire the quiet life, others I want to be stimulated.

I think I'm one of his "third kind of people" - living a hybrid life. And "Paradise is unstable...so true"

The decision is about YOU and your self-awareness

Always remember…."Wherever you go, there you are!"

I'm embarrassed to be a foreigner in Pattaya

So many nasty, disrespectful foreigners arriving.

I'm seeing the changes from the lovely Thai's. We are no longer treated like kings, the Thai's are retaliating, no longer do I see the warmth and hospitality from the past 😔

I could live in Pattaya if the condo has a nice beach view.

Spouse and I lived in a succession of Pattaya condos, all with enjoyable seaviews in nice projects. If you want a seaview condo, Pattaya has a wide variety to buy or rent--and, with a choice of a number of distinct neighborhoods to choose from. After a number of condo moves, we jumped to pool villas on the Darkside for more space and privacy--again, lots of choice, both with housing and neighborhoods, which is so great to have.

I think those who live in Pattaya year-round are not that bothered by Pattaya's reputation, realizing that Pattaya is quite large and diverse and the entertainment aspect is just a small part. It has no impact on our everyday lives. And, as others have said, you can always say you live in Wongamat, Jomtien, Nongprue, Pong, etc.

Perhaps that is for nasty, disrespectful old foreigners who stalk and molest their youth, thinking that money makes it all okay. They are an integral part of the embarrassing image. No one respects that kind of creature, even if the money might bring some relief.

Well, now. Sounds like he's a prime candidate for membership in the Just Can't Quit Pattaya Fan Club. Membership is growing by leaps and bounds but there's always room for one more pining for Patttaya. I shall get an application winging its way to him toot sweet.

To be fair, I don't fancy living in Serbia either.
