If in Krung Thep area, check out 'Natura Cafe', Chom Thong, Thonburi side of river. Place is way too cool. Took brother & sis there when they visited, loved it.

I'm not sure, at closing, the staff would be able to prise me off my mat on those polished wood floors with my head propped up with my elbows watching the world pass by the khlong...............noted.............

And comes across as honest and friendly. That's what draws people in. Millions use their hands to express themselves. Not just Italians.

Do locals eat it with their bare hands ?

Absolutely filthy

You may never have heard of it but washing hands before eating is custom in muslim countries

Oh right .

I gave my reasons myself , but you overruled me and gave the real reasons .

OK, thanks for letting me know what I think

You hate muslims. I suppose you never ate Turkish pizza too. Too bad you have to eat it with hands and muslims made it. Oh the horror!

That would be a reason for me NOT to go .

I want to keep well way from Muslim food , culture and people .

Wouldn't want to go to that city

You're missing out, if you avoid Muslim or Arab food.

Tough to beat a good hummous, baba ghanouj, kibbe, muhammara, kebab, waraq 'aineb (stuffed grape leaves) or if you like a sweet now and then, baklava. And fresh pita bread from a stone oven!

Yes, Greeks will claim many of these, as will Armenians, but they are Muslim favorites. Their use of cinnamon, pomegranates, mint and lemon in many of the dishes is brilliant. Great flavors and generally quite healthy.

I enjoyed the Arab Mezze on Qatar just the other evening. Delightful.

He probably thinks they only wash performing Ghusl / cleansing ceremony before strapping on suicide vest 🙄

Oh, and if you want to disparage my home country, go ahead. I know most every city and town is a carbon copy of the others, with Macs, Starbucks, Costco or Walmart, a pizza shop, take out Chinese, and a gun shop. <--- All that is one reason I left and have spent my adult life exploring wherever circumstance and dumb luck took me.

Wherever you go in Thailand, you will find an Amazon Cafe, a mall, the Pizza Company, or Sizzler. Every county has a pattern; you just haven't recognized it.

No malls in Ban Krut.

Supply & demand does that, along with convenience of.

Saying that, I've been plenty of places, where none of that is available, and even have to travel 35+ kms to find a 7-11, recently while O&A. Although another rural accommodations, had 4 within 4 kms 🤣

If not for PTT Park stations, you'd be hard pressed to find an Amazon, outside Metro areas, even though the largest coffee chain in SEA. Same with PunThai, owned & partnered with PT PTG stations. Along with Inthanin partnered with BangChak stations.

Lot's a amphurs don't have malls, Central / Robinson's or even Lotus's malls. Why we chose not to live there, as I need at least a Makro, and why we live where we do. And didn't build on land we had, until Makro arrived.

Prior to, only having a really crappy Lotus's, which hasn't improved much. Though did expand, so we now have Swensen's, Pizza Co (thankfully), and small KFC.
