I think my folks pay about £300 per month for electricity (averaged out throughout the year) - No EV charging.

My UK eclectic bill is about £30 per month ,a bit more if I need to take more than 1 shower a week .

The folks do get a little upset with our regular visits and we are showering 2x per day - I think they can see the water and electricity usage go up !!

The costs are obviously lower in the summer as there is no AC - but the winter heating bills balance that out and costly.

If just heating a small bedsit then its going to be a lot cheaper.

1000 kms in a Neta (efficient driving) at 13-15 kWh per 100km -& 4 baht/kWh = ~520-600 baht.

350 kms eMTB ~5-14 kWh/month - very cheap = ~20-60 baht.

Fridge / ~60-90 kWh/month = ~240-360 baht

2x small inverter AC units / ~0.5-0.9 kWh/hour / 6 hrs a day each = 252 kWh Month = ~1000 baht.

Without lights, oven, toaster, kettle etc - thats still a usage of between 430-620 kWh month (1750-2600 baht).

Without solar installed - I'm struggling to see how the bill is less than 1500 baht - its incredible that you can achieve that, I'm wondering why my bills are about 8000 per month.

He has a homemade solar system but is not mentioning it for dramatic effect.

So the tiny detail that you’re generating your own electricity with solar only appears afterwards?

Presenting heavily subsidised bills as normal household costs and conveniently omitting the one fact that changes the entire calculation - a truly masterful exercise in cockwomblery - well done !

While I pay 10 quid a month for all my energy in Thailand.

Electricity for my home, EV and eMTB.

I assume your 80 pounds is paid if you're there or here, so actually making it 160 pounds a month when you're there.

It's a direct debit. If we are not here it builds up as credit that I can request as a refund.

I don't understand how it becomes £160?

Forget him - he's already proven he's only here to troll....

Your comment makes perfect sense - my folks are currently in about £600 credit with their electricity bill.

That will slowly get eaten up through the winter - in fact, I think they are going to lower their monthly bill so it gets eaten up more quickly - otherwise they are nearly always in credit which gets on my fathers rag and thinks they are running somewhat of a scam the way they calculate the monthly rate averaged out across the year.

Assumed everyone knew I had solar, I've made enough posts about it.

Think it's you having a senior moment!

Why would you assume that? Unless it's an ego thing.......

The current hot weather is being caused by the El Nino weather cycle, rather than being caused by Donald Trump

You don't go on about it half as much as KhunLA - so I may not have read that in previous posts and oddly enough I don't read every comment you make on here - primarily for the same reasons above.

Ah yes, the old passive/aggressive,

I'm so rich and important I don't need to remember your past posts. But the reality is you can't live here without working because you're poor.

I'd suggest you stop quoting my posts, as I only respond when you quote me.

There’s definitely a degree of irony in a misogynistic little boomer sex pest - who openly boasts about paying the cheapest brass in town - trying to lecture anyone about money or morals.

I couldn't really care - but when a pathetic sex-pest wants to take a bite - they're going to get something back.

I'd suggest you stop lying in your posts and stop being deliberately obtuse - you claim to have once been a teacher yet can't even present a complete set of facts in a post unless its about paying for the cheapest brass in town.

That's a nice, balmy day in Thailand.

The issues you perceive to affect the whole nation don't.

The UK in reality and how it's perceived by the far left and the far right of politics and those with far left and far right political views is totally different.

They're becoming fewer and fewer. 600,000 'new arrivals' according to official stats ao 1M irl?
Even seeing lots of them in Surrey where they ewre previously confined to the north.

Adding 1M brown people to the country every year changes it beyond all recognition.
'British' has become a meaningless term
Whites refusing to breed as they don't want to inflict cramped conditions on their offspring and maybe the disadvantage of a DEI riddled 2-Tier society imposed by a 'suicidally empathic' establishment

Much nicer due to low humidity but still too hot.
22 degrees is the universally agreed best temp for aircon unless there's a need to adjust to being boiled every day.

You've clearly not read the recent immigration figures.

I'd be interested to see your source for the number of "brown" people entering UK.

I know how it is in reality I visit every year and speak to several members of my family every week.

They frequently describe it as "broken". Up until recently they were Labour voters. I jokingly refer to them as champagne socialists when we clash on politics. They're not of course but they are successful and left of centre. They are shocked at the decline over the last few years.

You can move areas to get away from certain [cough] problems but the cost of living, insane taxation, failed NHS, overreaching state, warped justice system etc. will follow you.

Enjoy it though. I'm very happy here in Thailand.

The apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

Quote the stats if u have them but the Yookay Govt lie about Aabsolutely everything.
All Pre-election pomises, inflation stats, crime stats, immigration - EVERYTHING.

I stay in Surrey, England most of the time and we're seeing more and more Indians and Africans and displaced peoples from middle east wars.
Maybe a minority of the Indians will pay more into the system than they take out but wouldn't bet on it.

So I'm not counting but I have eyes and even wealthier patys of the Yoookay are having these people inflicted upon them.

You are showing your true colours.

Assumptions to help you believe in your own agenda, and you asked me to provide stats???It's funny to read, to be honest.

I was in London just four weeks ago - and while it was mainly sunny, with temps 16-19C on average, the winds were 20-30 MILES per hour. It felt like 6 or 7 degrees. I wore a puffer jacket every time I stepped outside.

Politically we differ quiet a lot although having seen the mess Labour have made of the country I suspect they are coming round to my way of thinking.

Where we are very similar is our refusal to deny that the country is in a real mess out of some misguided loyalty to what Labour used to represent.

Unlike you, Higgot.

Obviously they only count the legals.

The 1/2 million boat arrivals are not included.

But Liebour also claim the NHS is getting better and electricity prices are going down.

Even Blair is speaking out against Liebour now!

How did a UK weather post turn into an anti-immigrant rantfest?
