Give the Guy a break, he may have picked up on something in her behaviour and it's niggling him, he may be a paranoid person (I know plenty of them), he may want to save any heart ache further down the line and see if her intensions are honest from the beginning, who knows? It isn't a Thai thing to not fully trust someone.
