Fidel Castro says U.S. fooled world over 9/11

HAVANA (Reuters) - Ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro said the U.S. government misinformed Americans and the world about 9/11, echoing conspiracy theories about the terror attacks against the United States six years ago.

In an essay read by a Cuban television presenter on Tuesday night, Castro said the Pentagon was hit by a rocket, not a plane, because no traces were found of its passengers.

"Today one knows there was deliberate misinformation," wrote Castro, who has not appeared in public since July of 2006 when life-threatening surgery for a secret illness forced him to hand over power to his brother Raul Castro.

"Studying the impact of planes, similar to those that hit the Twin Towers, that had accidentally fallen on densely populated cities, one concludes that it was not a plane that crashed into the Pentagon," Castro said.

"Only a projectile could have caused the geometrically round hole that allegedly was made by the plane," he said.

"We were fooled like the rest of the planet's inhabitants," he wrote.

Castro said the truth behind the September 11 attacks with hijacked planes that killed nearly 3,000 people will probably never be known.

Castro's 4,256-word essay made no mention of Osama bin Laden and his militant Islamist al Qaeda network behind the attacks on New York's World Trade Center and Washington.

Castro, who was the target of CIA assassination plots after his 1959 revolution, said Cuba tipped off U.S. security services in 1984 about a plan to kill then President Ronald Reagan while he campaigned for re-election in North Carolina.

The information provided by Cuba led to the arrest of a group of would-be assassins and foiled the plot, he wrote.

So - he's been watching 'Loose Change' - one of the many videos that discuss this.

Although much of the rest of the video is nonsense, this bit was well argued. There is no plane shown in any of the footage from the scene, there is one round hole about 16ft diameter, there are no damages due to wings or engines of a plane.

No wreckage; no bodies. Damage inconsistent with the stated facts. No film (as there is on WTC1 and 2).

I accept the destruction of the World trade Centre buildings 1 and 2 as being caused by Islamist terrorists who flew planes into the buildings, but I am not sure what damaged the Pentagon or caused the collapse of WTC7.

Here in Saudi - and also in Libya, where I was working six years ago - it is a given that all the destruction was an Israeli plot, connived at by the US Government. But that's horse poop.

'Loose Change' is worth watching - or the first ten minutes are worth watching - just for the questions posed and the excellent filming in places. But don't believe the voice-overs, that's more horse poop.

I could buy that the whole 9/11 episode was setup to lead the world to war. It's got all the right elements to create division and allow for the spending of trillions of dollars, which I believe is the primary aim. Great cartoonish leaders, that one loves to hate, on both sides too. I just wish there weren't so many kooks on my side though. Thousands of eyewinesses watched as that plane banked and dived into the Pentagon. Hundreds on the freeway which the plane barely cleared (it clipped a lightpole) were within a few dozen feet of it as it passed overhead.

Since watching 'Loose Change' I have searched, because I didn't believe the guy. But I couldn't find anything through Google.

But I am not skilled in computers and the Internet, so would welcome any other peoples' input.

But the guy on 'Loose Change' makes quite a compelling argument for the Pentagon bit - not so for the Twin Towers.

A very good friend of miine was driving from Virginia to Baltimore on the morning of 11th Sept, 2001. He has told me, he claims to have been in the general vicinity of the Pentagon, that he saw the low flying airliner in question, and had been puzzled - until later on when the story broke.

there are, as yet, and as far as I know, no known vdo's except for a strret camera that caught some shadow but nothing more.

There is one highly publicised EDITED version of that same vdo with the shadow of a missile shaped object, but this has been confirmed as a hoax, made by a conspiracy "theorist" for a vdo he made.

The 'Pentagon-Crash' 9/11, was indeed strange now that I've looked into it a bit further.

It's very strange that one of the (if not THE) best secured enormous buildings in the world has no footage of the impact. There must me hundreds of security camera's outside the building PLUS hundreds or thousands of cars and nobody filmed it, not even with a mobile ?

Can anyone remember the crash of the Concorde near Paris or many other crashes which were filmed. ?
