I seem to get all sorts of crackpots sending abusive mail about my views on Thailand or Thai Visa.

Is this normal? Anybody else get this or what?

Not sure if you can (improve on it) but also I think I added you name to my twit filter - saves clogging up my inbox Seriously though before anyone thinks we are having a flame war over here. I have only had three PMs from people in that category. Two are banned - nothing to do with sending me a PM and the other has disapeared into the world of fogotten logins. The first one was a classic - I should have kept it as a form letter. Started out with "you are a total <deleted>%^ing mongrel bas&^rd and I hope you die! From there it went down hill fast until it ended in a twisted wreckage of spelling errors and bad grammer. I had to read it several times just to figure out what he was talking about. Then had to go to his posted messages to see where we had crossed paths. Finally found the topic and realised that I had made the cardinal error of saying "no you cannot work and yes Teaching is considered work without an appropriate visa and work permit".

My advise is to steer clear of General which seems to be located in the shallow end of the gene pool.

Of course the other thing that you may want to consider is to flicking the PMs to the mods for their information. Last thing you need is an inbox filled with incoming hate bombs to start your day.

Wow, I wonder how many hate mails this person has been sending then, as he obviously could not handle a normal and honest answer. I assume you weren't the only one who replied to his post.

The problem would be that you are denying the person the "right of reply" and we would be making comment presumably without them having access to Bedlam. I am guessing that if you removed anything that would identify the person then it would be ok but you may want to run it pass the mods for comment before you start loading up a whole stream of posts from the collection.

Woh really? Well ive yet to have that delight lol. I dont recal seeing anything you have posted that would cause someone to go nuts on you like that, CB also. Then again I dont keep tabs. Wut the heck have you guys been posting?! Most I have had has been my 5 stars knocked down to 2.

It seems to be funny that the hate mail comes from relatively benign postings, such as I don't think such & such is a good choice etc.

It started with me criticising his views on a dog thread, whereupon he started 2 more, where I also criticised his opinions. The next thing was him resurrecting the first thread I ever started about adopting my little boy & accusing me of child abduction. The pm was more of the same. sbk was great (I fwded the pm to her) & there's been nothing since.

Maybe I'm lucky, most of my unsolicited pm's are really nice. I got a guy asking me to describe myself once (physically) - never answered that one!

Only one nutcase bothered me a few times, but I just ignored his PMs and Robski stopped bothering me.

There for awhile I was getting hate mail right there in the forum. I figured it was mostly boring people and even asked that they send it via PM.....but NO.....didn't happen....continued right there in front of goddess and everyone.

I think you should go ahead and post it here or report it. Why would "pm" allow anyone to be abusive ? Very cowardly, I think.

I got a few when I was first on TV from the General Topics thought police. Just as pathetic as their self righteous posts really.

Then I got one the other day, full of rabid histronics and poorly spelt insults so I sent Ullysees G this...

I asked a lady for her photo in a football forum once, said I needed something to put on the mantelpiece to keep the kids away from the fire.

I got two.

A few threatening pms from a woman. One from an ex-member, but continued moron, who posted it on another forum and then tempered his remark by saying "just kidding" and something like: it's too expensive to hire hitmen in Vancouver. (He'll read this and have a temper tantrum in his "mates" forum where he pandies to all the men and mods, while extolling how he is the world's tour guide leader and knows absolutely way more than anyone else even if he has just done but a day in your neighbourhood. But, he has the photos to prove it!!!!! And anyone who says otherwise to him is, well, just string several expletives together (no grammar or speling check needed) and that's what you get labelled by this tough-guy wannabe pansy.

That's why I'll send info privately, but never divulge my info on the net.
