Internet In Bangkok Hotels

Featured Replies

I'm visiting Bangkok soon. I won't have a laptop with me. Are there any hotels that have internet access?

Thanx,

Rhinogirl

Yes, I believe some hotels do have Internet access. You can do more research from this web site by looking through the hotel listings partners on the Thaivisa home page.

More common is to find Internet access in the hotel's "business center." Now it depends on what you want in terms of convenience vs. cost, but I can tell you that the prices will be much higher in the hotel's business center than any local Internet cafe.

Just as an example, one particular hotel's business center rate is 150 Baht for 15 minutes. A relatively "upscale" Internet cafe in the Emporium at Thong Lor is 40 Baht for 30 minutes. (if memory serves me correctly) And the Emporium cafe bandwidth was better.

So within two days I found myself rolling in the Internet Cafe with shopping, and leaving the business center alone. Most other people do the same. In many ways its better to leave the laptop at home.

Hope this helps, have a nice trip.

careful if yer planning on staying @ the sheraton, I used the internet @ the one in Saigon for 2hrs and got hit with a US$40 bill :o

Why concern yourself with high-price hotel service.

There are thousands of Internet shops - usually about 50 baht per hour.

Just make sure you click the 'pulic computer' icon and log-off all security sites.

Everyone uses these - most Thais cannot afford their own computer, so if they cannot log-on at work, use the Internet shop.
