We are likely relocating to Bangkok in the coming months, and have a child in kindergarten and a 20 month old. I have been trying to research like crazy to figure out where to start looking as we'll have limited time when we arrive to find a place to live.

As much as I would like to live in a single family home, here are the considerations:

1. Husband will work on Wireless Road

2. We would like our daughter to attend a great school, and so far my research leads to ISB for American curriculum

3. I do not want my husband to commute far if possible

4. We would like to have a "city" experience if possible as long as we can have a comfortable home

5. We need at least 3 bedrooms, preferably 4 for an office

6. We would look a nice pool area, playground, etc. especially if we are in a condo

7. We would like to be near the subway/skytrain

So, any recommendations? I had initially thought we would just go to Sukhumvit, but I'm not sure how this would work for my daughter's school. Thanks for any help and I am especially interested in specific development names as it seems like there are never-ending lists of places to live!

My suggestion would be the Satorn area. Bangkok Gardens condominium off Naratiwat Road. Nice condos up to 3 bedrooms for rent. Good outdoor space for relaxing and nice pool. They even have an international school in the complex called New Satorn International School (Amercian curriculum). Great kindergarden as friends have their children there and they love it. It is also not far from Shrewsbury International School as well. Several others in the area also such as St. Andrews. Near to Chong Nonsi BTS station. Not far for commute to wireless road. Traffic is good I can be at All Seasons Place on Wireless in 10 minutes. Commute home about 30 minutes.

Thank you, I found that on the internet and it does look very nice, especially the outdoor areas.

I lived in Sukhumvit Soi 13 for 2 years and i really loved that location. However it has become a little expensive now especially with the Baht being 33 to the USD. To the OP if you have the budget i would definitely choose Sukhumvit as the place to live. Anywhere from Soi 77 down to Soi 1 making sure that your apartment/house is not more than 5 mins from the BTS.

Id like to ask a question of my own now. Bearing in mind i prefer a townhome to an apartment which areas do you think give good value for money but are also near to either the BTS or MRT. Im not looking to spend more than 20k pcm so I'd be grateful for some suggestions.

Thanks.
