Maybe the overall situation with Thai security guards isn't that bad comparatively speaking. My friend's research lab in the west was over run by some illiterate zealots that thought his stem cell research involved aborted fetuses. It was actually plant stems. The building guards that are paid the equiv of 350B an hour plus comprehensive benefits and protected by an obnoxious public service union were AWOL. The visitors detroyed 5 years of research in about 20 minutes. Meanwhile the poor doggies that are used for horrific vivisection experiments in the next building were left yapping......................

Well, it's a shame about the doggies, but if it wasn't for the "obnoxious" union, those guards wouldn't be making a living wage with benefits. Too bad they were bought off, though.
