Heading to KS for a weekend get away from HKT. Can anyone pipe in and tell me of the best route and the name of the town (in english or thai- can read both) that the ferry for the island is, times, and an other cheats for the trip.

i could be way off the mark here but can drive up through phang nga, onto surat thani and then you need to head to don sak. unsure of the road numbers though.

Also, if you feel like, best beach, resturants, and nice hotels (5-10K THB) price range.

Best beach for snorkling.

That's it, Thanks IA.

If you are wise you will book your ferry ticket in advance from Seatran Ferries

077251 152

queue can be horrendous otherwise at Donsak

leave the island on the airport highway

then follow the signs to Krabi

until you see signs leading you to Surathani !

coming toward Surathani you have big signs Koh Samui and Ferry (which is about 70km OUTSIDE Surathani !) which is in Dongsak

there you can choose Seatrans and anotherone leaving every Hour

5-10K, big budget !

just go to Central in Chaweng (busiest place on the island)

have fun
