Getting A Visa In The Us

Featured Replies

I have a multi entry tourist visa and to and fro a lot. Heading for the US next week and return mid November and multi entry tourist expires while there.

I have email Thai embassy in Washington and also Thai consul in LA as to can I do this by courier while in the US. I will be in Vegas and I am Australian. Anyone got an idea or who to contact re this. No response to my emails means I dont have a clue.

Thanks in advance.

My opinion is that you will probably have to show up in person at a consulate or embassy with your passport, application, and fee. Sadly, no consulate in Vegas. I once applied for a Thai visa in a third country and mailing it was not an option. Also, I would take their lack of response as a no. You might try emailing a friendlier consulate such as those in Texas. Both the DC embassy and the LA consulate have a rigid reputation.

yeah no problem. I have gotten lots of visa's from Thai consulates in the US and never have to visit the embassy. I just received a 1 year Non Imm ED a month ago. It doesn't matter if your home address is different from the address you want the passport and visa returned to. Just contact them and make sure have the right docs. Send it Fedex 2 day or whatever with a return Fedex prepaid envelope and you will have it back in less than a week.

Triple entry TV's are tougher now and doubles are fairly easy. Some consulates will want to see a bank statement with a $500 or more to show you have some funds.

The Thai Consulate in Houston will give you a double-entry tourist visa if you satisfy all their requirements but I think only US citizens can apply by mail or courier. They are open Mon-Thur and it's a 24-hour turnaround so you would need an overnight. You may consider a plan to hit some of the Gulf Coast casinos while you wait for the visa in Houston?
