I'm after some new glasses, just wondering if anyone can recommend a good opticians?... It's not that I'm stuck for choice, just want a good one.

sawang optical were 8000b dearer for varifocal lenses and frames than top chareon ,when i questioned this sawang said that chareon were crap ,well when people bad mouth there compeditors like this i start to disbelieve them ,bought at top chareon got the same german lenses that sawang offered me ,and saved 8k .

Beautiful & top Charon are the same company. I have had several pairs made at KT optical in the tesco mall area.Just beware of the type of lense you get.All shops can quote cheaper prices,the thicker the glass the cheaper it is.They will all try this,just be firm & insist that you get the thin lense ( depending on frame) for the same price as the thicker one.I have have had tri focal lenses made ,thin ones for 3,200 Baht.

Thanks for the replies. I got some Original Raybans from Saweng about 4 months ago, really good price. I wasn't sure how they measured up on normal glasses.

I just need glasses for using the computer. 10 years of working with computers has damaged my eyes slightly.

I'm going to check out KT in Tesco after work.

Well, experiences differ, so do services!

And then, it's not only the price, remember you always only get what you pay for!

@KT for Example, a friend had a eye test (just for fun)... he should wear glasses they said, another, more thorough test @ Sawang said he doesn't need any....!

About the "Quality", Charoen is accused of doing just the same about their competitors and the Quality of lenses they sell...so far about competition vs. experience.

I can say that my experience regarding service, genuine brand names, price and quality - I would always prefer Sawang Optical!

Maybe an eye test at both is in order.......... ; )
