Paedophile suspect Neil arrested _44178502_neil_interpol_203.jpg Mr Neil was spotted entering Thailand last weekA Canadian paedophile suspect who sparked a global manhunt has been arrested in Thailand, police say.

Christopher Paul Neil, a 32-year-old teacher, was held in the north-east of the country, a police spokesman said.

Police had sought Mr Neil after identifying him as the man allegedly abusing young boys in a series of internet images.

He went to Thailand last week from South Korea, where he had been working as an English teacher.

Police across Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam had been searching for Mr Neil since he arrived in the region.

"He was arrested Friday by tourist police in north-eastern Thailand," a senior police official told French news agency AFP.

He could be brought to the Thai capital, Bangkok, later in the day, another official said.

The arrest follows a worldwide appeal from Interpol for help identifying a man seen in more than 200 online images of alleged sexual abuse involving young boys. The man's face had been digitally scrambled, but the international police agency used software to create a usable image of their suspect.

Ok This is the real scum! and people like him (of which there are many in Thailand and the rest of Asia) posing as teachers.

More needs to be done to prevent people like this getting teaching jobs in the first place. Hope the pervert get what he deserves.
