Claude, Im not sure of the bus times from surat but the journey would take around 2-1/2 -3 hours by bus. If you need to be in Chumphon by 10 you can always go to Tao and get the night boat to Chumphon which will get you into town around 6.0 am. The lomprayah pier is at Thung Makam which is about 30km from town. There is a free bus into town, Hope it helped
