My wife is applying for a visitors visa to the UK in a few days. We applied before and it was rejected. She went to the embassy today and she spoke to somebody in the embassy. They told her that new rules were brought in 4 days ago and it is alot harder now to get a visa.

Is this now true? If its harder now we dont stand much of a chance.

The embassy doesn't accept unannounced callers these days. Did she go to the visa application centre? If so, the staff there are not qualified to give out visa advice and any statements they make should be taken with a pinch of salt. Certainly, there has been no change in the relevant paragraph of the Immigration Rules.

Scouse.
