I've got a couple of questions to ask that i cant find in FAQ or searching the forum.

If my wife is given a u.k settlement visa can she work staight away?

Will the settlement visa be easyer if we get a visitor visa first?

thanks

A settlement visa means she can work straight away. Not too sure about the answer to the second question but I dont think she can do the qualifying time on a VV.

Not entirely sure, but I think the OP is asking here if a Settlement Visa will be easier to achieve after first achieving a VV.

There can be a host of answers to this, all varied, but if you have received a VV, there is still no guarantee that you will get an SV, going for an SV or a VV should be based on your own personal circumstances, if it is for a visit, then a VV is your answer, if it is for a SV, likewise, however do not be tempted to go for a SV if that is not your main intention.

i have a interview in my home town tomorrow. But i dont know if she has a interview in bangkok yet, she will phone them tomorrow. I will keep you posted on the outcome. We tried before for a vv but it was rejected. This time im better prepared and worked alot harder on the documents. We have also know each other alot longer.

I just got back from the interview at immagration. And they tell me they will get back to my wife at the end of the week. I thought they would let me know there and then. We still dont know if my wife has an interview in bangkok yet. How will we know if it has been acceped? Will they call to confirm that its been accepted or will they write a letter of rejection.

It's not that common these days for the sponsor in the U.K. to be interviewed, so there must be something that the visa officer wanted clarified. It still remains open to the embassy to interview your wife, but if they were going to do so, one would hope that they would have had the good grace to have arranged her interview prior to referring the papers to the UK. Your wife should keep chasing the visa application centre and at the same time you may wish to give it a week and then contact the embassy by e-mail.

We are still waiting for a result for our visa application. My wife and I are eager to know the result. The embassy told us we would know by the end of the week. Its now friday and we have to wait till next week. I've tried checking online but the website doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know a way of checking online? I've tryed looking on this site http://www.ukvac-th.com/tracks.aspx . Ive tried using firefox, opera and IE7.
